When I am going through the pictures on my camera it will freeze. None of the buttons will work or unlock it including the power button. The only way to turn it off is to take the battery out. Then when u turn it on it stays frozen on the beginning white screen. To unfreeze it I have to plug it into my computer but then when i scan through my pictures later it will freeze again. Please I need help! How do i fix this?

There are ribbon connectors on the inside of the camera, connecting button pads and switches to the main board. When they become sightly loose, they can cause this problem. You will have to service the problem, and find that loose ribbon connector, detach it, and reattach it. Some are fixed, and require a replacement of the main board.
If you don't feel comfortable servicing it yourself, you can take it into a local repair shop and get an estimate. Also, you can contact Canon: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/support
Good luck, and hope this helps.
Taking out the battery would do no harm to your pictures. Also in some models of cameras you can force it to shut down by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Might be worth a try . If not you can always remove the battery.
1). Download all you pictures on the memory card onto your computer and format the memory card. This will enhance the performance. Its possible too much pictures are there on you memory card and therefore the camera performace drop and hangs.
2). Clean the battery terminals as well as the terminals on your battery and fully it charge it.
Try the above and let me know if the problem still persists.
When taking pictures, you must really be allowing time for the camera's flash to be charged before you could take another picture so that camera will have enough time to rest and it could function normally.
But if the camera was dropped, then it's really causing those kinds of issues like flash will not work properly.
You could still try these steps below:
First, do the POWER RESET: - Turn off camera - Remove batteries for a minute - Reload batteries - Turn on camera
Second, do the MASTER RESET
- Be in AUTO mode - Press on MENU button - Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2 - Scroll down until you see RESET - Press the right button to pick up on YES or NO - Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved
- Turn off camera for a few seconds so that settings will be refreshed
Turn it on and take a picture.
When you want to have just the AUTO FLASH.
- Rotate the mode dial to PROGRAM
- Press the LEFT/FLASH button until you've seen the
LIGHTNING icon with the Letter A on the leftmost part of the screen
- Try to take a picture by pressing and holding the shutter button
halfway first for 3-5 seconds and then press it all the way down
If it still does not work, you need to contact the Manufacturer.
I tried Option No.1 successfully when my Panasonic DMC-FZ7K froze once:
Option No1:
1. Try turning the camera on with the battery inserted.
2. Now remove the battery while the camera is on.
3. Flip the switch on the camera to off, then insert a fully charged battery. (Make sure that the battery's orientation is correct. Also make sure that the battery being used is not damaged).
4. Now flip the camera's switch to ON again. ------------------------------------------------------------ Option No. 2:
If you can open the Setup menu then the camera can be reset which might help:
Turn on the camera.
1. Press MENU SET.
2. Press the left arrow button.
3. Press the down arrow button.
4. Press the right arrow button.
5. Now, press the up arrow button several times until the menu item named RESET is highlighted. Push the right arrow button and then select and set YES when the camera asks to be reset.
