Question about Nintendo Super NES Console

1 Answer

SNES platformer not strictly a tech question, but i am looking for an early 90's SNES platformer. all i can remember is that it appears to be based in a jungle/rocky setting, the first part of the game you are teleported to this area and are chased fairly rapidly to the left of screen by a panther or black beast. you must, once passing the left hand side screen swing on a rope and let this beast fall to its death. later, i can remember there being black leeches on the ground. if you step on them, a pop up graphic depicts your leg bleeding and you die. the only other things i can remember is a blue cave area, a laser pistol )i think) and it was ported to PC. i would appreciate any help

The cartridge slot for my SNES won't open. It sorta opens half the way, but not enough to insert a game. Could I just buy tools on ebay and remove the whole cover? Or perhaps try to fiddle with it? Wo

It IS possible that something is inside of the SNES under the cover, or that the cover is damaged. You could try fiddling with the cover to try to wiggle out whatever part of it is stuck or damage, though you probably shouldn't be too forceful. You CAN remove the SNES cover to get a better look at what's wrong, but I recommend you do it only if you know what you're doing.Sorry I couldn't be of more help; try asking one of our SNES experts.Thank for using FixYa!

Dead RF-out on SNES and vertical lines on Multi-out

The problem is likely in the IC soldered to your SNES circuitboard. The cheapest way to solve your problem is to replace the whole SNES circuitboard. These boards run about 20 dollars, Google part SNSPT007 or SNSPT009, depending upon if you have the older or newer version SNES. There is no soldering involved, so it should be an easy fix if you can open your SNES.

SNES works but no color.

Sounds like your AV Multi-out port circuitry is shot. Yest it with an RF adapter, and if it works perfect with an RF adapter, that is the source of your troubles. I'm afraid that the cheapest solution is to buy a SNES motherboard (about $20.00), which is a lot cheaper than a repair shop soldering in new components to fix it. It's not something you can do on your own.. Google SNES Motherboards type 1 or 2

SNES Game/System incompatibility?

check your connections, try cleaning your snes system with some rubbing alcohol (the party where the game connects to the system), you might have to take it apart to do that...

one way we use to do with the NES was cut a piece of paper out to fit inside the game, make it wet with rubbing alcohol, then push the game in and pull it out a few times (of course if the paper gets stuck you'll have to take it apart to get it out.

SNES's are pretty cheap so u may have to purchase a new one
