BOTH OF THE STK-392-560 convergence chips need to be replaced; there are also fuses on the power board that protect them--do not look like fuses; if you need photos of the place where the chips are and the fuses, let me know.

Repair takes about a hour and parts if purchased on EBAY will be under 25 dollars.

Sony Hi-Scan 1080i 52" projection TV colors won't converge

No you will need to repace compents. Do you know how to solder and use a meter? If so I can assist you with the repair. If not you will need a repairman, he will cost you about $300-$500 for the fix.

Remote control no longer works

You cleaned the screen with "windex" and it leaked on the screen in the control board where the infrared receiver is. Open it and clean well with WD 40 the control board and the IR receiver. or repace it.

It sounds like you are going to need to have the convergence IC's replaced. Not really a hard job, but the job requires the proper tools, soldering skills, and a service manual to get the proper part numbers and to perform convergence alighnment in the service menu after the IC's are replaced. Good Luck
