You have got an Aqua Stop valve fitted with your dishwasher.

The reason it has triggered and stopped water getting in is that the flood switch in the dishwasher has activated.

You have a leak inside or the flood switch is faulty.

Please provide the model no. of your dishwasher so that I can help you locate the problem area.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Yes you are absolutely right. This part is called the water inlet valve. First of all please check that there is no clogging in it and hoses and no foreign object it stuck there. Then you'll need to check with a multi meter that there is continuity in it. If there is no continuity then this part has gone bad and needs to be replaced. After cleaning of water inlet valve and hoses if the issue is resolved then there is no need to replace it. If you have some electric know how you can easily replace it. Please see the links for ordering the part and its replacement----

Order spare part

Replace Water Inlet Valve

Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Toto neorest leaking & low pressure wand

Sounds like the washer in the shutoff at the wall has failed and is partially blocking the fill pipe. Some rubber from it may have gotten into the toilet valve internally. With the wall valve closed, try to remove the connection pipe to the toilet. If you can do it without water continuing to flow out of the wall shut off...then remove the pipe from the wall shut off. Flush the toilet. Now, apply air pressure to the rubber hose the goes into the overflow pipe. That may clear the valve in the tank and solve both problems. If you cannot stop the water at the wall shut off, close the water valve feeding the house. Remove static water pressure by opening the cold water a the kitchen sink faucet. Now you can open the wall shutoff valve and replace the washer and clean it out....

Only hot water gets drawn into tub

Remove the pipes connected to the machine completely. Look for the wire mesh filter that is still stuck/attached to either the pipe or tap or machine. Check that the wire mesh filter is not blocked or for any other blockage that might be there (blow through the pipe, check the water flow re stricter - look like a flat washer with small hole in the middle). Refit and check if problem is still there. If still the problem persist it is a electrical fault with the solenoid valve or the electrical connection to it. Call an electrician to investigate as AC power is supplied to the solenoid valves and should not be handled by unqualified persons.

Low water level

First plug off the machine. Shut the water valve in wall. Disconnect the 1 or 2 pipes from this wall to examine if the water pressure from the valve is good, use bucket to collect the water. Next unscrew the same inlet pipes going into the machine (top left or right, as model may be). Tap out the pipes to see if it is clear. Check to see if anything is blocking the inbuilt filters in the machine (you can clearly see this on disconnecting the pipes), clean out with old tooth brush, refit the pipes carefully, firmly without wrong threading. Open valve & try out the machine once again. Gud luck. Don't forget to rate me........

After a blocked pump my wmud 962 wont fill with water, everything else seems to be working fine now but no water, I have checked the obvious water supply etc, does anyone have any suggestions as to what...

Pull off your washer mains cord from the wall. Turn off your wall faucet,, the valve on wall which allows water into the washer. (h2o means your washer is not receiving the most importing thing - water). Disconnect the pipes of the water from the wall. Check by opening the wall valve to see if the water flow is gud. Next fit back carefully. Then unscrew the other end of the hose/hoses at the entry point of your washer - remove the fine filters and clean out with an old tooth brush; clean inside the opening of inlet valve too carefully, check. Now re-fit the filters carefully and screw back the hoses. You are done now. It is advisable to close the wall valve when your washing is done, takes pressure off the machine valve.
Hope you re-connected the exit hose to the right height behind the washer.
Pl click if helped......................

I have the Kenmore Oasis Elite Top Loader and I am almost always getting a LF reading on the washer. It never completes a full load. What does LF mean?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

LF = Long Fill

This is caused by either low water pressure or dirty inlet water valve screens. Turn off the water at the wall connection and remove the water hoses at the washer connection. (NOTE hot and cold installed positions) Use a thin knife blade on the outside of the inlet screens and lift them out of the water valve. Wash them under slow running water by rubbing your fingers on both sides of the screen. Once the screens are clean reinstall them in the inlet water valve. Re-connect the washer fill hoses. Just for grins... check the wall connection of the water hoses to make sure there are not HOSE screens at the wall end of the hoses.

(As a retailer of home laundry equipment we always installed fill hose water screens at the wall connections due to the local water supply having bouts of micro debris.)
You can clean the washer screens but if the installer also added at the wall connection hose screens you may still have the problem of a slow fill. Just check.

If after doing the above and you know you have good water pressure you may have a problem with the inlet water valve itself in that debris has got past the inlet screens and blocked the diaphragm passage. IF this has happened the only fix it to replace then inlet water valve.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

The dishwasher is not cleaning properly, glasses look like they have a film on them, plates also do not look clean & the dishwasher has a foul smell.. like rotting food in it.. we use the top quality...

Check the main drain system connected to the dish washer hose pipe. Clean the junction if clogged. This smell might orginate from the pipe.

Check incoming water quality. If hard water is noticed, use softener attachments to the inlet.

Fill dish washer salt in the dispenser. Refer user guide. The salt will help softening the water to certain extent. Finally check whether rinse aid dispenser filled with the rinse aid liquid.

My dishwasher doesn't seem to be getting water in hence dishes not being washed. motor is on. checkedunder sink . what does 'valve on' mean exactly? i don't see an on off valve. please help!

Follow the hot water fill pipe from where it connects to the dishwasher back to where it connects to the wall. (probably under the sink) Most of the time, you will find that pipe attaches to the same hot water (on/off) valve as the hot water side of the kitchen sink.

Confirm that valve is open (righty - tighty, lefty - loosy (open)) If the valve is open at the wall end then:

The next most common cause of no water entering the dishwasher is the solenoid valve on the dishwasher that is electronically opened when the dishwasher needs water to enter for wash or rinse. This valve is located just pass the connection where the fill pipe connects to the dishwasher and will have two wires connected to it.

Please post back here what you find or have more questions, OK?
