Assuming U are dailup, it only works when Ur dialed up. If U R broadband, it only works when U R connected to the modem.

Motherboard is not booting up properly. Often a bad peripheral will cause a mother board to just shut down the moment you turn it on.
Disconnect everything including hard drive from board and turn unit on. If it goes past the acer logo then something you disconnected is responsible - if no change, the problem is with the mo bo. or a corrupted cmos.

It would seem as if you have a problem with your broadband bandwidth. You may need to add more RAM to allow the computer to buffer the video in the background.

Internet disconnections

Are you getting good signal from your wireless network?

Does it disconnect when you leave it a while?

Does it disconnect when you use a public wireless access point?

Are there other wireless networks that are stronger than yours?
