You want them exhaust levers closed. Them thangs are in my neck of the woods called Yankee air conditioning. In other words if it is cooler outside than inside you would want to open the exhaust levers to allow the fresh air in and the stale air out. If the temp outside is warmer than inside you want the exhaust to remain closed so you won't lose your cool air.
the fresh air vent open close tab should be located somewhere along the vent louvers look at the bottem of them starting from right to left its their use a flashlight to see it good luck ..let me know /joe/
They have changed thier manufacturing proccess, so it is not uncommon to see the styrofoam. As far as the light shining thru, you might want to chack and see if you have the vent setting in the open position. If it is in the open position, the square flap will be open, and depending on the model and design, you will be able to see light. The vents purpose is to let fresh air in the home, when the A/C is running, but it is not automatic, so the vent flap will stay open, till you close or turn off, the vent setting.
I hope this helps, please rate me, and contact me back with any questions.
Hello there :
ok i'll explain it like this if you have the lever on exhaust it will be just circulating the air that is all ready in the room and if you have it on fresh it will be drawing the air from the outside ok hope this helpes you understand how that works please dont forget to rate my solution.
Im not sure what type of unit you are speaking about but in general a window airconditioner unit will have an exhaust button. This button generally opens a small door that allows a small ammount of fresh air to mix with the conditioned air from the room. When it is closed all of the air is recycled from the room. To cool a room fastest, close the outside air inlet.
If the damage is close to the end of the cable, simply get a replacement plug end from a home repair store and put it on.
Cut the old plug off and install the new plug.
when you go to buy the cord end, take the old one with you so you get the correct configuration.
Dear cmr 1,
As you have mentioned that it look like the fan hitting something, this is possible. This kind of problem can occur while transporting the machine. Some times the fan becomes loose because of viberation. So the fan has to be realign. Regarding the tilt it is okay to have 1/4 inch tilt backwards. Since the air-conditioner is brand new it is advisable to contact the company.
