Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum with Inteli-Clean System

My Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum with Inteli-Clean System, Slate Blue02035923000 Mfr. model# 35923 is very difficult to push on carpet in all but the highest height setting, even on very low-pile carpet. I've had the vacuum for 2 years and it has progressively become harder to push on carpet. Am I missing some simple maintenance? Help!:)

Had the same problem with a Kenmore upright. It was very hard to push. The rubber rings on the wheels would get off track. I ended up taking the rubber rings off the wheels. Worked fine after that.

35922 is not the complete model number, it will be on the back or the bottom of the vacuum. Example: 116.35922****

What problem are you trying to fix? The is no belt so you don't need to remove the bottom plate. If you are trying to remove the main hose, remove 4 screws on the back and remove the plate. There are 2 more screws under that.

THe vacuum won't divert from hose to carpet

Turn the vacuum off, return the handle to upright locked position.

Then securely fit hose into the hose holder.

Then depress lever and engage handle into non-locked position, and turn on vacuum on "carpet"

There will always be some airflow through the hose, but when the hose is parked it creates more airflow to the carpet head

I have a Kenmore Progressive Inteleclean Upright vacuum cleaner (with Bag) . It has good suction only through the hose now and none through the bottom for cleaning carpets. and, there is a noise like it...

Theres a little bendable neck that hose with suction plugs into. Thats the one thats clogged. You will have to fish it out by taking off the roller and clearing the clog.

Hard to push

Check to make sure you are using the proper level with the indicator knob located on the front head of your vacuum, using to low selection (bare floor) on carpet can be extremely hard to push in on or the other direction.

Kenmore Progressive 36932 Upright Vacuum

It's located inside the vacuum kind of behind the where the dirt is collected. You can open and clean but this is probably not necessary. You probably vacuum very fine dust that is hard to remove from the system.

Try replacing or cleaning all filters and letting the vaccum run for a few minutes without moving. Agitator off of course.

How to take the brush out?

There should be screws on the bottom plate covering the brush roll, take those out and it should come off and then you can access the brush roll.
