Ray, sometimes the burners get gunked up. Remove the cap and burner and see if the small orifice that is located by the spark electrode is clogged. Clean it out with a paper clip. Make sure the burner cap has good contact with the burner. Catriver..post back.

Not sure that I can help but will give it a go. Often the igniter plastic covering comes off the wiring from the heat of the oven and the igniter arcs on a metal surface on the oven. I had this problem with a gas oven I had. Check along the igniter wiring to see if it is arcing. Best way to find it is to firstly locate the wiring then ignite the oven WITHOUT THE GAS ON. If it is arcing you should be able to see a little flash. Check to make sure it is flashing at the right spot first near the pilot. Easiest way to rectify this problem is to wind electrical tape around the igniter providing you can get to the wire. If you have to pull out the igniter you can buy a plastic product called Heatshrink from places like Tandy or Electrical Hardware Stores. Just put some Heatshrink or Electricians Tape around it and it should solve the problem. Only other thing it could be is the igniter needs replacing. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Bake ignitor Location
Hi Kurt, welcome to FixYA!
In the diagram below, Part #28 is your ovwn ignitor. (See the red markings to highlight it)
It is located underneath the oven floor, and the floor should come out by removing the two screws located in the bottom rear of the oven cavity. Take out the racks, take out those two screws, and lift the oven bottom up from the rear, then disengage the front lip and lift it out. I hope this is helpful info and thanks for allowing us to be of service to you.

Hi I have a older GE that the oven won't light. It is a gas range that is electric ignited. The top burners do work but the oven will not light. Is it pricey to have this fixed?
