Our 2-year old Whirlpool side by side refrigerator is not cooling. Cooling power seems to have been reduced over a couple of days as it didn't die suddenly. Initially the compressor wasn't going. A repairman replaced the relay which didn't fix the problem. Another repairman drained the system to remove 'blockages'. This also didn't fix the problem. We had the compressor replaced. This worked for 2-3 days, but it seemed to be running a lot. Then, it stopped cooling again. The repairman came and removed blockages again (he said oil was leaking into the system because it was running too long). This fixed the problem for 2 weeks, but now it's back. It seemed to help to turn the frig off for 20 minutes and restart. That kept us cool-ish for two more days, but now we're dead again. Help!

When an evaporator fan stops working , the top shelf of the refrig section will not be as cold as it should be and the ice maker stops working . These signs , indicate that a problem is beginning which needs to be addressed , thereby reduceing food loss . As far as the fan motor , this is a normal happening . It's just a normal electrical item , however , it operates maybe 22hrs, a day constantly , sometimes for years , sometimes less . If you turn your hairdryer on , for the same amount of time the fan is on , which will stop first ? Maybe the fan was being made and the "maker" got a call to take his wife to have a child , and left 1 wire strand off the motor . There are many factors to consider for products to fail .I do agree though , one year for a fan motor to fail is not a good thing . I have never replaced a motor and it fail within a year , and I've been in the business for many years . Did whirlpool take into account , that 3 days out of warranty , they should cover the part and labor cost ?

You say fan seems to be working? it either is or it is not working. If you are getting a reduced airflow in the cabinet, it may indicate that the evaporator coil is iced up and needs to be manually defrosted.

your condensor had been chocked therefore the gas is not circulating. contact your service authority..... as because it cannot be done by your self.
