Make sure you are typing the password correctly. Check the Caps/Num Lock.

If it doesnt work, boot the computer in safe mode.
Tap F8 repeatedly when its booting up.
From the Boot Options list, select (using arrow keys) Safe Mode, and press Enter.
On user login screen, select Administrator.

If it lets you login, ur job is done.
Go to the Control Panel - User Accounts. Remove the password to ur account.

But if it doesnt accept the password, then you would have to reinstall the Operating System.
If there is any important data in the hard drive, back it up (by connecting it to another pc), and reinstall the OS using dvd u got alongwith the notebook.

IT'S EITHER THE HIDDEN ADMIN ACCOUNT OR THE BIOS PASSWORD iF IT'S THE HIDDEN PASSWORD IT MAY BE ADMIN...ADMINISTRATOR, OR JUST LEAVE IT BLANK.
IF IT'S THE BIOS PASSWORD DISCONNECT THE CMOS BATTERY FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN PUT BATTERY BACK IN AND THAT SHOULD CLEAR PASSWORD.
IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS YOU CAN MAIL ME AT [email protected]

SOURCE: How can I remove Laptop ACER BIOS password

Hi I am Vortash depending on the type of bios chip you have installed ( and in their infinate wisdom computer companies used a number of different ones for the same model ?.. ) all you should have to do is remove the internal memory battery for 1/2 hour .Now this is not the main battery this one is situated under the keyboard and is about the size of a 50p piece if your in England or a Dollar Coin if in the USA lol this will erase the bios ( or should do ) when you handle it .. better you should wear some rubber gloves as this will prevent you discharging body static to some of the sensitive components and the battery ,and dont forget to take out the main battery also ... hope this helps Regards vortash

Emachine password reset

  • Is this a Tower or Laptop computer >???????
  • Which operating system>??????
  • EMachines laptops run the Microsoft Windows operating system.
Therefore, if you want to change the password you have set on your laptop, there is nothing specific you need to do with the laptop itself.

Rather, the change simply needs to be made with the Windows operating system.
Changing your password from time to time is a good idea if the laptop is in a location where others can easily access it.

    Turn on your eMachines computer.

Press the "F8" key as your computer starts up. A screen called the "Windows Advanced Boot Options" menu will appear on your monitor.

    Highlight "Safe Mode."
Tap "Enter" to start your computer in Safe Mode. Click "Start" and type "lusrmgr.msc" into the "Search" box.

    Press "Enter."
Click "Local Users and Groups," then click "Users."

Right-click the account for which you are resetting the password and choose "Set Password."
Type the new password, then type it again to confirm it.

    Click "OK."

You can remove or change the Window's User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram. Another box will appear and ask if you would like to change any user passwords, when you have changed the password you wish to change, reset the computer and try logging on!

I was given an old computer years ago that was password protected I was told to pull the battery out for 10 sec. then reinstall it. It cleared the pass word protection. Note: pull the power cord push the start button to drain any power from the system, ground your self to protect the computer of any static electricity first.
