The channel is between #2 and #4 and my thoughts are it will not allow me to select #3 to modulate the signal coming from the Satellite feed.
This remote control is so old and non-user friendly and driving me crazy. So now that you have more information hoping you can help solve this problem.

  • jssnmo Oct 25, 2010

Not at option on the input.
Using the DVR from a splitter signal to my bedroom TV.
How the TV got it to work is just beyond me!
So the Remote is really not the issue but how to return it to the previous state is.

  • jssnmo Oct 26, 2010

if a Satellite guy with NO experience working with this JVC television set can get it working within minutes using the same remote OR front control panel, then I do not see why I am paying for this service or said advice!

All I am asking for is a user manual and I will do it myself!

Could not find one online so I bought this service instead.

So please consider helping a bit more.

    Thank you.

I thought you had my JVC AV-2050S model number from the start?

  • jssnmo Oct 26, 2010

I will double check this model number from this OLD tube type television set and get back with you.
Appreciate your help in this matter, and yes I agree it does have an old remote but I am not about to put any more money into this ancient set at this time. A little due dilgence will go a long way! :-)

    Scott.

  • jssnmo Oct 26, 2010

    Yes I verified.

JVC AV-2650S is the model number and I can not find it or JVC does not have the user manual for this. So we are back to square one with this problem. As I just do not want to buy a remote when I just use it to turn it off and on.

    You are correct sir!

After biting the bullet and ordering a Remote, it works perfectly now.

I appreciate you assistant in this matter.

Most likely you have selected the wrong image size. In that case just find on the remote the button labeled FORMAT or DISPLAY or PICTURE or ZOOM, depending on your model of remote and press it repeatedly until the image returns to the normal position and size.

Unfortunately if the remote is so old it might just have gone bad and started to emit by itself weird commands.
    You have just 2 options:
    1 - get a new remote.
    or
2 - change the way the sattellite is connected to the tv - use the 3 headed cable and plug it in the corresponding color plugs at the back and then select the AV entry. This way the bad adjustments the remote did will be bypassed.

  • Azrael SRL Oct 26, 2010

If you want a user manual then ask for it and provide the EXACT model (not serial) number of the tv.

  • Azrael SRL Oct 26, 2010

All i had is that it was an JVC LCD flat panel tv. But i never heard of that model before. Not even the official JVC support site has it, which means that it's a special series that was manufactured for someone else who sold them exclusively in their shops (like Walmart does).
Either go to their support site and get a the manual from them or go to JVC , locate a similar one and get the manual for it. http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product....

How do I get rid of a no signal sign on my tv

You may have the wrong input source selected. There are a number of different source connections on the back of today's TV sets. Using the remote's SOURCE button, cycle through the different inputs until you find the one that your input device is attached to. It is common for users to inadvertently cycle off the correct input when pushing remote buttons.

Just fixed this myself - made my head hurt to figure out. 1. Switch to a setting (say DVD). 2. Watch the AVR screen as it switches. You'll see the audio and video settings. For example, Audio = DVD, Video = DVD (Mine showed Audio = DVD, Video = DBS even though is was set correctly using the SETUP for audio and video)3. Under the round control knob on the left, push the (tiny) Video Select button. 4. Turn control know to choose the correct video source
Your system should work right. Mine did.

While most HDMI sources work with good audio and video, we have a compatibility issue with audio from a few specific products (eg, DirecTV HD DVR satellite set-top box, DISH Networks satellite set-top-box, and TiVo Premiere XL cable set-top-box). If you are experiencing problems with no audio or muted audio with one of your HDMI sources, then please try changing the audio settings on your problematic HDMI source to PCM or LPCM. Then turn off the TV, remote power from the WirelessHD adapters, and power off the HDMI source. Now power everything back on. If you are still experiencing no audio then please write down the model number of your HDMI source with no audio and contact VIZIO customer support.

Tv screen is white; sound is ok

Need more information about you problem. Does the white screen appear on all functions.Does any input signal like a dvd or vcr show picture. If so, then you have a problem with signal connection coming from the television signal source, like a cable or satellite box. You need to check the connecting cables to see if they are outputting signal. Try using different cables to connect the signal source to the television. If this does not work. Try hooking up the signal source to another television to make sure you are receiving signal from them.If all this seems to be working fine and you are sure that you are using the remote control inputs correctly, you may have a problem the video input signal board on the television. You can contact PROSCAN at this web address. www.oncorpus.com. Go to customer support and ask for their technical assistance with your problem. The telephone number for PROSCAN service is 1-888-977-6722. I hope this has been of help with your problem.

Unable to select channels using the unit

First, test to make sure the Philips remote is working by trying to play a dvd. If the remote control is working, then either A) your TV is set to the wrong channel, or B) you have not selected the correct source on the Philips remote.

Look at how the cables run from the back of the Philips to the TV. In the back of your TV, the slot that the cables are plugged in to is usually labelled "AV1, "AV2, "Video 1", "Input 1" or something like that. Change the television to the appropriate input/source channel.

Press the Source button on the Philips remote and make sure it says E1 or whatever the appropriate source is.

Then try changing channels using the Philips remote.

This does not exhaust every possibility, but you must check the above first to see if anything else might be wrong. If the above does not work, then I would double-check to make sure the cable/satellite box is connected to the Philips correctly.

There is a video select button on the receiver. Press it and it toggles through all of the video sources. Keep pressing it until the display says video=source.

No video on tv monitor

To permanently fix the problem you have to send the unit to a programmer. A quick fix would be is to physically do it in your TV. While your Direct TV satellite receiver is ON, press the "TV/Video" or "Source" or "Input" button in your TV until the video will appear in the TV screen. All the TV has either one of this button.

Check your PIP source. I couldnt figure out my LCD pip, and why it wasnt working either until I was able to switch the source. It was automatically using a source that didnt have anything hooked up to, I had to switch mine in order for it to work. Try that and see if that might be the case. let me know. thanks!
