Hmmm... try booting the computer in safe mode with networking, because you'll need the net, if you can get windows to stay up try using Eusing free registry cleaner (you can download it off the net) to repair the registry, then try clicking start then run and type chkdsk /f (this will check your hardrive for corruption and repair it if necessary) then press enter, It will say "error disk cannot be locked because it is being used by another program, would you like to run this next time you restart the computer?" press Y then enter. then restart your computer and see if that worked. This is happening when windows BOOT sector is damaged..and you need to either reinstall the operation system ..or use the recovery partition or cd to do that ...
If you have a windows Boot-able cd ..just insert ..choose repair ...and when it asks for command choose 1 for the first 0drive /C:/windows..and the command is FIXBOOT ..after that type exit ..and yes..and will do ...if you find it hard to work with it in DOS..just reinstall it ..and will be fine..
