FIRST: MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE POWER CORD FROM THE WALL.
OPEN THE COVER FROM THE EVAPORATOR COIL DISCONNECT THE WIRES, UNSCREW THE BRAKET AND PULL IT OUT. ALWAYS USED THE SAME TYPE OR EQUIVALENT.

  • Pros: Attractive

Cons: Thermostat, approximately 1/5th of the unit price is a weak link.

This refrigerator broke within 14 months. Our primary use was as an overflow unit for soda and produce, therefore it wasn't subject to a lot of abuse. Sanyo was VERY unhelpful when we contacted them for assistance, basically blew us off because it was out of warranty.

Try lowering your thermostat setting, if the thermostat does not ever shut off the fridge your most likely have a defective thermostat.

Sanyo SR-4912M 4.9 cu ft refrig temp problems

    Greetings macx,

The average refrigerator temperature is between 35 & 38 degrees. The maximum temperature a refrigerator can be before bacteria begins to grow is 39 degrees. It would be my recommendation to exchange this unit if you can at your local retailer. If this was purchased at Best Buy, you have a 30 day return/exchange policy on this item with no restocking fee.

    Thank you,

    Agent Dort
