Question about NetGear RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter (WNDA3100-100NAS)

My computer that I am connecting to wirelessly with the adapter keeps dropping the IP address and is continually searching for network address. We have uninstalled and installed it now 9 times. It connects for awhile, like weeks and then drops it again. Help!

Can not connect to Verizon MiFi2200 wireless network


Yes the verizon tech informed you right that the ip address will be acquired by your wireless adapter automatically. However there are lots of reason that your adapter not able to connect wireless.

1. Make sure no firewall or antivirus is blocking your wireless connection to connect wirelessly.
2. Make sure you are entering the right password for the wireless network if your network is secured.
3. Make sure the wireless adapter driver installed properly.
4. You can also try to restart the DHCP services through which your computer will try to get the ip address. I am giving you the steps how to restart the DHCP service once again.
- Click on start
- Under start search or under run type in services.msc
- Search for DHCP client and right click on that and you can click on restart. It will restart your services.
5. Make sure other computer are able to connect wirelessly to identify whether there is a problem with the router or a wireless adapter.
6. Make sure the wireless channel on the router is correct sometime due to wireless channel your computer not connect.

If you are getting invalid ip try the following:
  1. Click Start and type "cmd" in search press enter
  2. In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all
  3. Check the ipv4 ip address
  4. If you are getting an ip address as 169.254.xxx.xxx
  5. Go to device manager
  6. Uninstall the Network Adapter
  7. Reboot the computer
  8. Re install the driver for you network adapter if prompted
  9. You should be able to get a Valid ip address and get connected
If you have a pci network card installed
Try to remove the card and install it in another slot.

My wireless network is detected by my computer, but I cannot connect, what should i do?


If your network is WEP or WAP encrypted try to reconnect your computer and provide the key. Else go to your PC and Remove all wireless netork configurations you made so far to connect to the network. Restart your computer and search for the network. Don't configure the PC for the new network just search for a wireless network and when you find it connect it.

N.B. Check your wireless adapter's IP. If your network uses automatic IP addressing check to see if your computer's IP is set to automatic no static

My wireless adapter keeps disconnecting me from the internet, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I have to restart the computer everytime. I also can't pick up my laptop or it freezes. I have a toshiba.
