Sounds like a broken inverter which allows the screen to have backlight so you can see everything. But in stating that it could also be cpu or mainboard problem as they would also cause black screen with power.

I have an acer aspire 5630 it has worked well for nearly 4 years, about 4 months back I noticed that the screen would be dark and slightly reddish for the first 30 seconds to a minute after turning it on...

hi

try rebooting the system (i think its F8, to get to SAFEMODE) . in DESKTOP , right click and go to PROPERTIES, go to SETTINGS, go SCREEN RESOLUTION and take the arrow to the left ; set to 640x800 and and take the color setting to 256 drop down . hopefully this works after rebooting the system. if it doesnt, it may sound like the inverter card may be bad (PC bourd that connectes to the screen : this requires a service technician)

good luck !

My dad just got me these new skull candy earphones ive had them for about a month and a half at night i wrap them up neatly when in my pocket i wrap them around my ipod and now i dont know why but the left...

This is very common with Skull Candy headphones as the jacks are very poorly made. I went through 4 pairs of them within 4 months. Unless you want to buy a new pair every month, buy a reliable brand (Sony, Panasonic, etc.). You can however get them replaced with the same product by visiting:

Hope this helps

Powers on, but screen is black It was left on and open a few inches while listening to music and it went black. When you turn the power on now it beeps a few times , nothing else

Dear friend you mention long beeps/few times beeps.
Its mean its RAM problem, Remove the ram from the ram slot & clean it by napkin & use a brash for cleaning ram slot. Then fix it back again. After that power on the laptop & see what's going. If the same sound again , that's mean the ram not working, its damaged. So buy/ arrange a working ram and fix it on the slot. Now power on and run the laptop for work.
Thanks & waiting for your reply.

My notino uL100 notebook laptop isnt working! PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello,

Do you get the message to press f10 at all during the boot process? If so please press f10 and follow the recovery procedures. All Hi grade systems without disks have a recovery partition built into the hard drive and you access this via the F10 key during boot up. Please let me know how you go with this.

See if you can plug in and external monitor and boot from scratch if the external scren comes on then the LCD on the laptop has had it. Ring Toshiba to get it fixed as its in Warrenty.

Acer Travelmate LCD screen went dark

The same thing happened on my HP. I ended up buying a LCD screen off ebay. That corrected the problem. New screens cost $150+. You can get one off ebay for half the price.

Gfx card or overheating or power management or memory or what? problem

Hey, I had a 1522wlmi, witch is the brother model of your laptop, the models have issues, parts fail within 12months. Your only option to get the problem fixed is to send your vga card to www.acerparts.com by ordering a replacement model. Only option is repairflow as far as i know at the time.

I had my vgaboard at acerparts for 6months, I got it back but had issues with games, i send it back waited a few months and got my money back.

Then I send my laptop to my local acer. It was analysed since it had taken more than 3 months to replace my card. I they suggested to repair the laptop for 300eur thats around 400-500 usd. Im pretty sure it wont last more than 12months so in the long run your better off buying a new laptop, dont buy acer.

Good luck.

Dv2000 wont boot

Well send it in for warranty and then sell it - It sounds like a flaky motherboard to me by the symptoms - Generally speaking if you dont even get a beep without any RAM installed then the motherboard is probably bad.
