Run the driver first from the disk ...and after that connect the USB wireless device ..and it will run the installation wizard by itself when recognized..
Check the date of the computer to be right ...
Be sure that the driver you want to install is for XP ...most of them these days came with drivers for Vista and windows 7 and they are not compatible ...if you do not have a disk ..get to the support site of the manufacturer and download the correct driver for your operation system..
