Koolspace wine cooler

I have a code "AL" which is showing up on the unit and the unit isn't cooling. What does "AL"mean and what do I do about it?

Same thing happened to me just the other day. Vintage Keeper web-site suggests unscrewing the controler (the little box with the "Set" and up and down arrows on it) and check the plugs on the back. Unplug and plug back in everything and test. My "AL" went away. Unit doesn't cool though. Coolant leak I think.

I have the Vintage Keeper Odyssey. I had the same thing the other day. Unit is 7 years old. Vintage Keeper web-site suggested to unscrew the control box and remove. (The box with the "Set" and Up and Down arrows. Unplug the wiring and sensor on the back and then plug back in. Plug in the unit and text. It took my "AL" away.

Unit doesn't cool very well. A coolant leak may be my problem. I was looking for solutions other than buying a new refrigeration unit.

This probably means something is wrong with your unit. Try to unplug it for a few hours and replug it and see if that will make the "AL" go away wine cellar cooling units Good luck!

I am on my second KoolSpace Chillr300 in less than 5 years. Unfortunatley the units are not reliable or well built. My neighbor just purchased one and the compressor failed in less than a week.

Apprentice,

thanks for the information. I had already done this and it shows up again. I'm going to take the unit into my local HVAC dealer and have it checked out. I'm thinking it's probably needing a recharge.

This means alarm. Unplug the unit and plug it in again. The unit will not go into alarm on replug for a number of hours even if the unit goes over 70 degrees. your room must have exceeded that temperature for some reason and triggered the alarm feature which shuts the unit off as a precaution. Check your insulation and operating conditions and make changes or just see if it works after a replug.

How to tell the year of a koolspace wine cooler

That will always depend on the Manufacture of your Koolspace Wine Cooler. If Koolspace keeps record's they will ask you for your serial number. It does appear you have an eliete model and brand name so I would think they are well ahead of the game.

My wine cooler is not reaching the set temperature. It stops at around 73 and the display flashed AL. Any ideas?

check to see if compressor cycles, if so you may have a thermistor problem which is intergrated with control, replace if you can find part. make sure to check evaporator, see if ice is forming if so you have a leak,or dry evap. you have a leak. repar.
hope this helps.

I have a Koolspace AA6 Tuscany free standing unit. Sn 05314-11. Power went out cooling unit will not restart. I get the thermostat to read and fan to turn for a while then goes into high temp alarm mode.

It seems like this cooling unit (AA6, also Grand Cru 800) just doesn't last as per numerous postings that I found when I was trying to find a replacement unit. Best advise seems to be get a higher output unit that will fit application.

Koolspace NUVO wine cooler recharge

do you have a recovery machine and gauges you need to tap both sides to check the high to and it needs to be vaccumed down to remove moisture ,find and fix the leak. leaks arnt verry common un less someone broke a line somehow. if the compressor is running it is more likley it has a restriction or bad valve in compressor, hooking to high and low sides will determine which if is less than 5 years old it could be under warrant still most sealed systems have a longer warranty than the rest of it is the evaperator getting cold at all.

My Vintagekeeper Tuscany 220 wine fridge is making lots of unnecessary noise.

Hello, this is a common problem when parts start to wear in the motor. They rattle and clang allover the place, depending on age of fridge you can get the motor replaced and regassed. Or depending on age it may be time to replace the fridge. I hope this is of some use.

Koolspace 600 Problem

You'll need to replace the fan. The original fan bearings wear our after a couple of years. It's pretty simple to drill out the rivets and replace the fan. I suggest you replace all four with ball-bearing fan units.

My Koolspace cooler in my VK250 wine fridge quit cooling

I have the same problem with mine and have tried the same things as you have. I took my unit to a air conditioner service place and they said these units are not worth fixing. It would cost about $150 to add a valve so they refill the gas and then try to find out why it is leaking. I am about to order another one which makes me vary mad. My unit is 1.5 years old.
