It will light but goes out after 3-5 minutes. Tank is full and there was no wind.

Chances are that it is the thermocouple. Ive seen many on their way to going bad that held the pilot valve open so it kept the pilot lit, but after a couple minutes of burning, the vent gases pull the flame away from the thermocouple just long enough for it to quit. You could replace it , or try to adjust the pilot flame orifice in the direction of the thermocouple so that it has better contact with the thermocouple.

If you have a standing pilot that wont stay lit and you have to keep relighting it, it can only be a couple of things that will do this.
1. Try tighting the thermocouple at the gas valve. (this is a thin copper line that goes from the gas valve and goes to the pilot light.)
2. Make sure that the tip of the thermocouple is in the pilot light flame.
3. Make sure that the thermocouple is clean.

I HAVE A PROPANE 75-125000 BTU REDDING HEATER. WHEN I RELEASE THE STARTER BUTTON THE FLAME GOES OUT. I TRIED HOLDING SEVERAL MINS AND IT STILL GOES OUT. HELP!!!

You will need to replace the pilot safety or commonly called Thermocouple. It is the probe located in the flame disc and works its way back to the gas valve. Remove it and take it to a good hardware store. You may have to purchase a longer one but you can keep it coiled to make it fit. Real easy to replace.

Heater will not stay lit after releasing button

Make sure your thermocouple tip is in the pilot flame and the other end is snuggly screwed into the control. Clean the pilot if not heating thermocouple. If pilot is heating tip thermocouple and it still goes out after holding the button down for 2 minutes, then your thermocouple is likely bad.
