Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier

1 Answer

When I turn on my sharp AL-1631 copier, I smell something burning. It almost smells like a heating element of some kind is overheating. I have had this copier for 5 years without a problem. I don't know if changing the toner or drum will fix this issue. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

Hi check the fusing unit, maybe the heater or the thermistor try to desassemble it from the machine and look inside for paper or foreign body.

the h means that your fuser needs to be replaced. it might be fixable by changing the thermal fuse but most of the time the whole fuser needs to be replaced
