Desktop display of Palm Calendar has 'lost all text' only showing category colours
I was changing the colour of a category in an appt in the calendar - and I must have hit either the right click, or some other button and all the text disappered from all my appointments and entries in the calendar, but has left all the colour coding in place.
Looking through all the Palm support - it seems that the Display Options (where I think I need to re-tick some boxes) only exists on the Handheld, and the facility does not exist on the Desktop.
Am reluctant to HOT-syn, as I don't know if it will solve the problem and I don't want to risk losing the data from the handheld.

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following:
1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format.
2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account.
3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below).
4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync details:
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your new phone.
Lower right corner of pc is symbol to activate synchro. Right click on it and go to custom. Check to see calendar is checked to go from palm to pc ONLY. then try restoral. If this is helpful, please post as such.
Selct Desktop overwrite Handheld.
You can change the way the synchronisation takes place for all applications, either from the palm desktop application or from the status icon in the taskmanager bar.
There are different options:
- Handheld overwrite desktop
- Desktop overwrite handheld
- Do Nothing
If the PC is up-to-date and you want to use these data you should select the "Desktop overwrite Handheld". This will clear the handheld calender and replace with the data from the pc/desktop
OK. Hope this helps you because it fixed my problem. Go into palm desktop. Go to hot sync, click on custom Go to Calendar (Outlook) and double click on that. At this point click on settings. Under conflict resolution choose "outlook wins". Then go out and check syncronize files and set as default. Click done and this should resolve the issue. Reply if this is confusing.
Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place.
I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.
So make sure that you are displaying all categories....
If while on Calendar screen, you click on Tools, Categories... then all category boxes shown , should NOT be checked. If any of them are checked, then you will only be seeing that category of appointments.
