QuickBooks 2005 Two times in the past week I entered my posted transactions for the previous day and shut down QB. When I opened it up the next day, I found hundreds of blank (but numbered) transactions listed after my last entry all with the same date and ending balance as my last legit entry. I could not figure out why this happened or how to erase all of these "entries" at once. The first time this happened, I had to erase each one individually in order to clear space for my next transactions....very time consuming! Now it has happened again and I need help. Here are the particulars....last transaction that I entered: # 1893 dated 06/04/2008. After this one, #'s 1982 through 2458 all dated 06/04/2008 mysteriously showed up. I can type in new "Checks" but it will not accept any "Deposits", so I'm stuck, since 06/05/2008 starts with several deposits. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Mark O

This sounds very much like a corrupt database. Blank transactions should not be allowed by a datafile that is fully intact.
You can start by verifying the data. Make sure all of the windows are closed, then go to file, utilities, verify.
If the verify passes, (and it may, even if damage is present), you may want to take the step of rebuilding the data.
Personal preference, I like to copy the company file to the desktop and run the rebuild on the copy, that way if everything goes to heck in a hand basket, the original file is still there.
If the issue continues after a rebuild, you may be faced with a situation where only Intuit can attempt to repair the data. The only problem is, they no longer support this version, and will only work on the file if you are upgrading to the 2008 version!
One way to quickly get an indicator the data is damaged, run a standard balance sheet for all dates on a cash basis. If the two bold numbers on the report are not in balance- you can pretty much bet the company file is damaged. Remeber, this type of issue will only be seen in a single company file, other files on the same computer can be fine.

Quickbooks conflict with nvidia

If you installed the latest NVIDIA drivers, did you also try installing a different PDF printer driver? I would suggest try installing a different PDF printer driver like PDF995 or Foxit Reader. Post back how it works out.

Error 7149 Quickbooks

Thanks, that worked! I first spent a half-hour on the phone with the non-tech support at Intuit and he walked me through that download. What the download does is update your original QB 2005 RC1 version to the RC9 version ("Release Candidate") where they've fixed some things (such as the Flash 7 install problem). Here's what we did:

1.) Removed Flash ActiveX 9 in Add/Remove Programs
2.) Downloaded webpatch from QB site (start here: http://www.quickbooks.com/Help...
3.) Closed QB (couldn't open it anyway)
4.) Installed patch.
5.) Restarted computer.
6.) QB worked!

Thanks for your postings. I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Convert QB POS to QB Premier Accountant

a) If you previously syncronized POS 2008 with the financial product, then no, you cannot syncronize the data again, unless you tag each transaction (for the whole years) as "unsent".

b) If you have never syncronized POS 2008 with any QuickBooks Financial product, then yes, you can syncronize/download the data into QB 2009 Accountant Edition.

Before you do either: Make sure you do not already have 2008 data in your file.

I am using Quickbooks 2002 First screen says: This file was not closed in the previous session. Rolling back to last fully recorded transaction." Then I click OK and get the message: "Quickbooks has...

That is an "Old QB Software version" installed in to a "Newer Version of Windows" issue.

QB 2002 most likely works best with Win 98 or 2000.

For your best functioning on your PC, I would ONLY do QuickBooks entries when your PC has just been freshly turned on and no other programs have been running first. Also "Pause" or temporarily "Exit" any background running software like Win Defender and/or any Anti-virus programs. Call QuickBooks and ask them how you could go about Up Grading your QB version to a more Windows compatible version without having to purchase EACH version to "UPDATE" your pre-existing database/files so they are not lost or dysfunctional. They once sent me disks to jump 2 versions and they charged me less than 50 bucks but that was a few years back. Good Luck!

QuekBooksPro 2005

If you had a power outage, or quickbooks locked up, you will get that notice. The good thing about Quickbooks is that is save on each saved transaction. For example you have entered payments and invoices, you are in the middle of entering a bill when the computer shuts down. The only thing that would not be in you file is the bill that you were entering but hadn't saved. If you continue to get this message, let me know and we will trouble shoot it further

Problem when installing

In order to understand where the issue lies, I would need some additional info, such as the Qb version, the version of Windows etc.

Quickbooks pro 2005

I got this solution off the official site forums. This worked for me hope it does the same for you guys.

"Thanks for the post. Let me start by apologizing for this. We had sent out a message concerning IE7 and QuickBooks. What is going on is a dialog box is trying to load, but it is not loading completely. Windows is waiting for a response from this dialog box, that can't be seen. What we should be able to do to work around this for now is to press Alt-F4 at the same time. This should force this window that has not loaded correctly to close. Now we should be able to work in QuickBooks without any trouble. If this does not work we may want to hold the CTRL key down while double clicking on the QuickBooks Icon. The first solution I have seen not work only once."
