Question about Singer Sewing Machines

Hello I am having the same problem. It's getting stuck and all wrapped up around the bobbin. As well as when going to sew the thread brakes off and the fabric catches and goes under the plate.

Sounds like you are not threading it right. Do this test------when you think you have it threaded right. put your presser foot up, then pull on the top thread and it should feed smoothly, now put the presser foot down, the thread should barely move. Also, pull on your bobbin thread and check that also. No tension there? You have not inserted your bobbin in correctly, or the thread is not unwinding in the right direction. Another thing change your needle, make sure it is the correct one for what you are sewing, insert it with the flat side facing the rear. Refer to your manual for correct threading and troubleshooting if this does not help. If, you do not have a manual go to www.singerco.com and download your manual. Usually they are free, but some you have to buy the hardcover. You didn''t say your model so I couldn't check. Good luck

Sewing machine hand wheel won't turn. Fabric is stuck under needle. How do I fix this?

Mine has only done this when the machine has jammed with thread form the bobbin and the top thread not being threaded properly in machine or the machine is dirty and needs to be brushed to remove all the fuzz from sewing. Pull the pressure foot off of the machine. Use a seam ripper and carefully cut the threads that are wrapped all around it. Once it is loose, take it off of the machine, then you will be able to pull your bobbin from the machine and trim all the thread that is wrapped around it. Then use a toothbrush or sewing machine brush and clean your bobbin area of your machine with the brush and try it again.

Needle thread wrapping around bobbin case.

Hello Crystal, I also have had problems in the past with drop-in bobbins . I had to experiment with different model bobbins . The cause I found was due to the bobbin was not tall enough in the drop-in bobbin case. When sewing , the bobbin would rock in the bobbin case and the top thread would get caught on the bobbin instead of going over the top of the bobbin, causing the rats nest that you described. I would recommend finding a taller bobbin to fit in the bobbin case. There are about five different bobbins that will fit in there, but only one that will work properly. Knowing the exact model number of your machine would be a great help to finding the correct bobbin.

I can only get a small amount of thread wound on the bobbin. It stops and wont take any more. The bobbin case keeps moving & I cant get it back in correct place

I assume you are placing the bobbin at the TOP of the machine, then wrapping the end of the thread several times around the bobbin in a counter-clockwise motion?
Have you made sure to "scoot" the empty bobbin next to the bobbin bar to the right? Is the thread going from your spool, directly TO the bobbin? Because it is supposed to wrap around the tension "nut" (where you start to thread your machine) before going to the bobbin.

When winding the bobbin, the thread keeps wrapping around the bottom of the bobbin post

Make sure the bobbin is pushed all the way onto the post and that the thread is running through the tensioner on top of the machine above the needle area.

Needle is getting stuck on the bobbin case

That usually means there is a problem with the threading. If the thread is pulled through the wrong side of the needle, is wrapped around the top wheels wrong, or the bobbin is threaded wrong, this will usually cause it to jam up by the bobbin. i would suggest re-threading your machine, or if that doesn't work, contacting the problem hotline.

My needle on my brother CS-100 sewing machine keeps getting stuck on the bobbin case. I think it may need to be retimed but do not know how to do this.

before you do that, make sure that the machine is threaded correctly. often when the needle is threaded from the wrong side, the thread is wrapped around the top wheels incorrectly, or the bobbin is not threaded right, it will cause the needle to get jammed in the bobbin. however, if this does not work, check their hotline and ask the maker what you should do. you can also go to a local sewing machine store and have them take a look at it.

Cannot thread bobbin

If I remember correctly this machine has a little arm in the bobbin case area. You will need to open the slide plate, move that arm towards the middle of the bobbin. Thread your machine as normal, take the thread going through the needle eye and wrap it around the thumb screw a couple times, then start "sewing" your bobbin should begin filling, once started, you can release the thread wrapped around the thumbscrew. Once filled, you simply close the slide plate and that moves the arm back into place and start sewing.

Upper thread wraps around bobbin mechanism, while sewing

IT PROBABLY IS THREADED INCORRECTLY. GO SLOWLY BY THE DIAPHRAGM AND MAKE SURE IT IS THREADED CORRECTLY. ALSO MAKE SURE SPOOL PIN HOLDERS ARE IN PLACE THAT HELPS TO GUIDE THE THREAD CORRECTLY.
