My technics sl-ch550 cd player wont read the disc and shows a message saying no disc, if you spin the cd round by hand it will start tuning then play the disc for a bit then say no disc again. im wondering if the motor that turns the disc is broken and im wanting to know the problem so i can repair it as its a brilliant hi-fi system. Also i live in boston lincolnshire, where is the best place to have it fixed.

SOURCE: Disc gets jammed mid-way between CD magazine slot and inside player

Thats alot of disc this ubit holds. 110+1!! The CD changer arm mechanism sounds like is out of timming or the gears have slipped there teeth, and or the cam is broken, or theres a couple of small microswitches that can get broken as well.. The only way to work on this unit and see what the problem is, is to get a service manual and go through the mechanical alighnment and see where the problem is. Unless you can do a physical examination and know where every lob and gear is suppose to be, I do not see any other ways.

SOURCE: need for speed wont install

dear sir
you can install directx 9c from www.downlod.com
after that you can run NFS from you system.
need no worry.
i think your system is not suitable for windows 64 bit. its not at all a porblem.
when ever you installed winxp 64 bit in your system automatilically it will install 32 bit graphics memory card.
dont worry about that.
first of all please install driectx from www. download.com ( its free).

with regards
murali

My Technic SPD967 is not working. Whenever I put a cd in the tray and press the play button, I am getting an E message.

"E" must stand for error, either the laser decoder is faulty or the cd motor is not spinning or the laser is dirty or faulty, more investigation needed

Technics SL-MC60 error message: "Take out"

Hello
If a disc has been put in the slot of the disc in play, Remove the disc, whose number is displayed, and press stop button.
Because of light or noise, the changer has detected a disc in the lot of the disc being played, even though it is empty. Check whether there is a disc in the displayed slot. With front panel closed, hold down "STOP " button for atl least four seconds or more.

The problem with old CD Players are that they sometimes are a little fidgety when it comes to reading CDRs.

You could try burning a new CD on the lowest possible setting, say 2x or 4x.

Also try changing the CDR brand as some cheap CDRs are prone to not reading in old CD Drives.

Try using a regular CD-R (CD recordable - record only once) instead of a CD-RW (CD rewritable - rewrite multiple times). CD-RW use a different "ink" to write the data to the disc and can be re-recorded/erased a couple of times before it loses its ability to write effectively to it.

FAILURE TO READ DISCS. TECHNICS SL-DV280 (SC-DV280)

if the disc starts to rotate when helped by hand then you definately have a weak spindle motor. dvds spin faster than cds which gives more wear & tear to the motor. i've repaired these faults numerous times. hope this helps?

No play

Sounds like the drive belt that spins the disk is slipping or broken. You have only one actual cd reader so no matter what slot the disc is in it has to go to the same cd reader drive.

Hope this helps...

Technics SL-MC7 / Can't play cd's any more!

Friend. Did you try a CD that you purchased from the store? if so and this problem persist, then you need to get you a new player. If the CDs are scratched, some players will not play them, If they are burnt in mp3 format, (or data format) your player may not recognised this also. Please try playig a regular CD that you bought from the store, if this work, then you will need to reburn your music as a regular CD, hoping that the SL-MC700. reads copied. It should. But please checks these steps.

Please let me know what works.

Thank you
