Check the connection of the electrical harness to the fan motor. If it is fully connected and the motor still does not run replace the fan motor. The fan MUST operate at the same time as the compressor to properly cool the system. Spin the fan blade by hand with he power off. If it turns with any resistance the bearings are dry and in most cases the motor is replaced.

Condensor Fan blade is broken, a new one has been ordered. Can I disconnect the motor until new one arrives?

Yes you can BUT.... you will need to use an external fan directed at the rear of refrigerator with the fiberboard cover removed. If you do not use an external fan the chassis of the refrigerator will get hot to the touch and the freezer will warm up. Ice-maker will probably stop working and ice-vream will get soft due to the rise in freezer temp. Just use a small external fan directed at the condensor coils and it will work fine until you get a new fan. There is the possibility that you might get an error code saying the condensor fan is open. You made no mention of a model number and the more advanced units will error. If you experience this error problem... just remove the fan blade and let the motor run BUT you will STILL have to use an external fan until you get a new fan blade.

Hi,

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Ok.. Just a bit of info for you if you have to sometime in the future do a parts search. This unit is the same as the Hotpoint HSS25GFTWW

Now for the icemaker problem.

When ice makers start making less ice it is usually a sign of some other problem.
1. Ice build up on the evaporator coils in the back of the freezer.
2. A slow or not functioning evaporator fan.
3. Dirty condensor coils in the back or the unit
4. A condensor fan that is running slow or not turning.
5. An automatic defrosting problem (most common problem)

If you have ice cream you probably notice that it is softer than usual. Or things in the freezer just are not as stiff as they usually are. When you notice this the freezer is warming up but the fresh food compartment is fine.

1st.. check to make sure the control panel settings are set to "0" for the freezer and "37" for the fresh food compartment.

2nd.. look for any obvious signs of ling build up in the bottom and back of the unit.

3rd .. Listen to the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment.
a. must be running full speed
b. should not sound like it is striking anything

4th.. Is the chassis near the doors hot to the touch? (should be warm not hot)
a. if hot to the touch the condensor is not getting rid of the heat due to lint build up, or slow / stuck / failed condensor fan.

5th.. there is always the very rare chance that there is an actual problem in the ice maker. (thermostat)

Have GE Profile refrigerator Quit Working

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Can't find refrigerator coils/ cooling issues

There're two coils ,the condenser coil wich you already clean (also make sure the condensing fan motor works properly and the fan blades are also clean). The other is the evaporator coil wich is located inside the freezer behind the back wall cover.
