Question about GE JBP82 Electric Kitchen Range
Hi I have a crack in the glass cooktop of my GE JBP82 range. From looking online and reading, it seemed that all I needed was the cooktop piece and I could unscrew the elements and replace the top which would be cheaper than an entire replacement range.
I got the replacement top in today but it seems the metal frame that holds the elements on the (old) cooktop is bonded to the cooktop. Can anyone confirm if this is correct- is there an adhesive used on these frames? I believe I have removed all of the screws/brackets. And if it is bonded is there a way to remove it or am I going ot have to buy replacements elements/frame as well?
1st....You have to pull out the cook top first.2nd...remove the 1/4 inch screws that hold the top down(they are mounted on the side os cook top ) ,you dont remove the lowest ones.remove the burners from the top and your there :) Please Rate This !

Thank you for your post, isaak goldman!
I understand that you are seeking instructions in order to replace the cooktop on your Frigidaire range. However, this is not a simple DIY job. I would recommend having a professional technician come out to ensure that the range is properly disassembled and the cooktop installed correctly to prevent any future issues. Hope this information is helpful. -Matt
