Question about Samsung Refrigerators

Samsung SRS2029CSS ice maker in side by side, won't drop the ice out of the tray. The ice stays in the tray and after turning back upright, the water dispenses again flooding the freezer. I've taken it apart and can't see anything at all wrong.

Many thanks. Filter changed, freezer defrosted and ensured that no ice remains in the tray, but still it refuses to drop out of ice tray when it turns.

  • Pepsii Jul 29, 2008

The ice won't drop out of the upturned tray - it just stays in and won't drop out. Otherwise, the icemaker itself appears to be working perfectly.

The ice maker twist the tray in harvesting the ice. pls observe whats holding the ice.
it could be that the twist is not big enough or is not turning enough to break the ice and fall on the bin but if it is not breaking up, it would not fall and would just come back to the tray.

another problem could be that the ice are too big. you can adjust the amount of water coming in so that the ice would be a little bit small and they would not be attached to each other if too much water is in the tray.

and last , you can manually feel the rubber like tray where the ice is being formed. it could be rough and not smooth and the ice would not drop fast.

i hope i was able to solve ur problem..

tnx,

drcool

Yes replace the Motor Module. The motor does
not have enough power to remove the ice. It is real easy. You take the
Ice Maker out of the refrigerator, and take the front cover off, and
then take the 3 phillps head screws out in 3 of the corners of the
motor module, and then take the wire sensor off, and then pull the
motor module out, and put the new one in.

    hope this may help;

The ice and water-dispensing system of your refrigerator is quite complex. Many components work together to provide the ice and water. Aside from a simple problem of a leaky water tube or a jammed ice chute, most other components are not user serviceable. We suggest that you contact a qualified appliance repair technician for such repairs.

You could also try unplugging the unit for a while to melt the ice cubes. It could be that they are frozen stuck in the tray. You may wish to consider replacing the inline water filter as well. Your refrigerator water filter is most likely located either inside the
refrigerator cabinet, near the top or in the grill at the bottom of the
    unit.

How to replace samsung flex-tray ice tray

On my model RF265AABP, it is easy to get the ice maker out, once you discover how to remove the drawer from the slides (two plastic clips at the rear of the slides).
Pull the front cover off, take out the two screws, and unplug the wire connector and it drops right out. Yours may be different.

Our Samsung ice maker stopped working

Sound like the problem may be a gear broken or damaged in the module which appears to be replaceable in your model. If you can dissasemble it enough to inspect the gears you may can replace the part instead of the entire ice maker. It looks like the motor may be in part 18 on this diagram. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=RS2630WW&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=1482&modelName=SAMSUNG-REFRIGERATION&diagramPageId=00009&componentDescription=ICE%20MAKER&documentId=M0612092&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

Icemaker tuns but ice does not drop out

OK the reason the Ice isn't dropping is that the element under the icecube tray isn't working. You'll need a new Ice tray with element I'd be guessing, but see how you can buy it. Some models you need a whole new ice maker. Cheers
