Question about Nikon Coolpix 5700 Digital Camera
HI! i am experimenting with the macro setting out in the sun. It is terribly hard to see the image on the viewing screen, and of course, looking through the viewfinder does not show you what the lens sees... love the camers and want to get the most from it thanks!
1. Do you get the same problem in regular lighting as well? If you do,
it could indicate an LCD chip level problem, and if your camera is
under warranty, I recommend you get it replaced.
2. You could try using a "viewing hood" to block out the sunlight,as shown in the pic below:
You can purchase that online from HERE. I think it cost about $15-20
3.You could even try anti-reflective coating on the lens, although I do recommend the "hood" from point 2 above.
4. If you do not wish to spend $15-20 on the hood, you can try an inexpensive alternative. Take a piece of cardboard and cut it in such a way that one end fits exactly around the digital viewfinder and gradually tapering in to a narrower viewing area. About 2inches depth should be enough. Tape the edges, and voila! you have a hood. Should warn you that this may be a bit of an inconvenience as you will have to hold the hood in one hand and click with the other. But as long as it solves the issue...;)
The pic below will give you a rough idea on how you should cut the cardboard to give you the "tapering" effect on the board. Well, it could just be a case of trial and error, till you get the correct shape.
Unfortunately, there is no other solution, as your camera does not have any other settings. Hope that helps!
If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.
