Question about Proscan PS35660 TV

Model PS36605 My Guide Plus does not work. When I try to program it it says "The search for data has failed'" My cable company has checked my reception and it is OK. I love my Guide Plus. What can I do???

    I have the exact problem too. I love this feature & somebody needs to get it fixed. I'm sure we all paid for it when we bought the tv. RCA should have to pay us some money back if we are not going to be able to have this feature anymore !!!!!!

SOURCE: My Guide Plus does not work

The Guide Plus data that has been transmitted to your TV has changed. This is due to the broadcast industry having to switch from analog to digital transmission.

This change is because the FCC wanted to free up frequencies for civic reasons. The police, fire, and other emergency related two way radio coordination. If you are receiving your signal via antenna please post a reply and I can help you with getting your signal converted to digital.
Unfortunately your current system is not compatible with the nation wide switch to digital.
You can thank the Bush administration for the way the conversion was handled.

SOURCE: My Guide Plus does not work

Mine stopped mid-
December. I used the old reliable 99999 as my zip code, turned off the tv for an hour, turned it back on, entered my correct zip code and was patient. Today, the 15th of January, it popped back up. I have a feeling that it is all due to the switch over. I think different cable companies are setting things up and the gude was lost during that time. Maybe if you are patient, it will pop back up also.

MY tv buzzes almost all the time that it is on.


Your Power Supply maybe going to fail soon :( Thats all I can think of.. OR some Transformer laminations are loose? Not a lot one can do really 'cept wait.. sorry.

Our Guide Plus shows no listings. We have gone


This is For Guide Plus that comes with ATI TV Tuners

I got this in an e-mail from Macrovision and IT WORKS!!!
I deleted the files they said, and got a new error message, so I reinstalled Guide plus, left out that step, and GUIDE PLUS IS BACK!!

Please try belows instructions to see if that helps. Please back up any data and registry before going forward. We take no responsibility for any wrong doing. Please follow instructions carefully.
1. Delete all files in these directories:
C:\Program Files\Gemstar\GUIDE PLUS+(TM)\ATI\download
C:\Program Files\Gemstar\GUIDE PLUS+(TM)\ATI\panelad

2. Go to the computer's registry:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GEMSTAR\ETV\URL
Find the strings:
"1"
http://www.gemstarguide.com/gdndl/gdnget.asp
"2" http://www.gemstarnet.com/gtidl/gdnget.asp
"URL" http://www.gemstarguide.com/gdndl/gdnget.asp

Change string "1" to

Guidec plus wont get listing any more


If it wont work since the change over to digital,
it cannot search because of the signal difference.

Not receiving guide plus + tv listing -no problem until 2 weeks


I called TimeWarner Cable tech support, and the solution is to unplug the power to the box, after 1 min plug back in, let the box reboot, and PRESTO, this time around, the guide should be working.
Note--this is a solution for the problem of online guide that is showing No Data in the boxes, but is bringing up the grid of times/channels/date.
If you can't get the Guide at all, I don't know if this solution works.

Guide Plus on RCA television


My guide quit working also on my RCA 61" big screen and I called the cable company and he said something about the encryption data had changed and I needed to call RCA to find out what to do and the whole time trying to sell me a converter box. It is the cable company's fault or the guide wouldn't have put that message up to start with. We all need to call the FCC!!!

Guide Plus


Called the cable company..they said they don't block the signal. sooooo..

first..i unplugged the tv from the power source, and unplugged the cable from the wall. left both off for an hour, and reconnected power and cable.

entered the guide set up...changed the zip code from the area where i actually live to the zip code of the cable provider for my area. here on maui, there is only one provider.

used the editor in guide plus to turn on and off the channel line-up according to the published channels listed in my area tv guide.

24 hours later...voila..!! it WORKS..!! good luck..!!

Cant use all cable channels


Go to SET UP TV, press yes for the following question. SET UP GUIDE PLUS. This will take you to another GUIDE PLUS SET UP SCREEN. Answer the questions as they appear. The important question is going to be. DO YOU HAVE CABLE? Answer yes to this questions. Answer the rest of the questions as they appear. Then go back to MAIN MENU, select channel, then select auto channel search. This will find all channels that are offered by your cable package.

Guide Plus Gold service on a 2000 Zenith TV


I have an RCA televison with Guide Plus Gold and it works great. I am not sure about the Zenith and how it works on it. When I turn on the TV with the remote the guide comes up on screen. I just have to press the guide button on the remote to remove that screen and watch the show. If I don't press anything it will go off after 2 minutes. If you have never set up the guide it will probably show up all the time. You will have to go through and program it so it will know if you have cable, over the air or satelite. I don't have satelite service so I don't know if it will reconize it. I know it works with over the air and cable.

Guide Plus on 32in RCA stopped working


Either the hardware has failed or your cable system or broadcasters do not provide this information. Frankly, with this chassis you should be glad it works at all.
