Were having problems connecting our Wii to our router we have a Cisco E2000 router. on the Wii a screen pops up when im trying to connect that asks for a SSID n i cant find that on the rounter or anywhere...

Your SSID is the name of your wireless network, which you probably entered yourself when you set up your router. If you didn't change anything, its probably something like generic like: "ciscoxxxx" or "linksys".

Im unable to co nnect to the server code error 52230

Hi there! Welcome to FixYa!

This error is usually caused by a conflict with the firewall of your wireless router.

To solve this error:

  • If you are using America Online (AOL) broadboad, you may experience problems connecting the Wii console to the internet. Please contact America Online for more assistance.
  • If you are using wireless routers with Comcast firmware, you may experience problems connecting the Wii console to the internet because of incompatibilities with the Wii console.
  • If you are using a Netgear wireless router, disable the SPI firewall setting which is usually found under the WAN Settings of your wireless router.
Hopefully one of these options will work for you! Good luck!

Having problems conecting to the internet on my wii. Error code 51032 pops up

Either your wireless router is not compatible with your Wii, or you need to manually set up the connection.

To manually set up the connection, you need to enter your SSID and all that other stuff, which you can find on your router's settings page. To get to the settings page, type in 192.168.0.1 in the address bar, or type in your network's IP.

If you manually configure it and it still doesn't work, you need to buy a new/better wireless router. You can find them online for relatively cheap, and the investment is definitely worth it.

I recently went back to cable broadband and am using my Belking wireless G plus mimo router again. Did not have a problem when I last used it. Now I have to reset the rounter every day to get my WIFI...

Try removing power from the modem and router for 30 seconds, plug the modem back in first then the router. Also could be WPA, have you tried to take all security off and see if it makes a difference? Made sure the os is current with updates, some older sp for xp for instance had an issue with WPA.

WII NOT CONECTING TO INTERNET

are you using a wired or wireless connection?

if wired you must use a network adapter that is specifically designed for the wii. I have tried many and never got any of mine to work so I ended up buying one from walmart for $19.99 and it shipped to my local store for free.

here is a link to that unit

if using a wireless connection I find it best to first delete all internet connections and start fresh.

Make sure you select search for connection. This takes a few minutes and will show many connections depending on if your neighbors have wireless networks set up.

Select your network and enter your security key and it should work.

hope that helps

Im try to connect my wii online but i get error code 51330 saying unable to connect to internet. im on wierless and have con though connection and his comes up after testing my connection.....what should i...

Error Code: 52130 There appears to be an issue with your wireless router's firewall.

  1. Make sure your router is not listed on our "known incompatible routers" page, by clicking here.

  2. Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings:
    1. On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run."
    2. Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window.
    3. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.
    4. Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response.

  3. Disabling your router's wireless security may help the Wii console's online connection. Consult your wireless router's manual or check with the router manufacturer for more details. Please note Nintendo provides these recom mendations as a resource to our consumers; it is up to each consumer to determine if adjusting their router's security settings are the right choice for their home network.

  4. It is possible that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is not compatible with the Wii console. For instance, if you need to login with a user name and password when you try to go online for the first time after restrarting your PC, your ISP is likely not compatible. Please contact your service provider for more information.

Im having problems conecting my nintendo wii to my tiscali siemens gigaset se587,can you help me please as i have tried to link them both together with a wireless conection but i just get an error message?...

hi

i have just solved this problem on the SE 587, hope it works for you.

1) in internet explorer type 192.168.1.1, which should bring up your router settings - then select "wireless" and then "basic wireless settings" - under "auto channel" set it to "disable" and the set "wireless channel" to "1" , then "save settings" - my pc briefly went offline and quickly came back.

2) when setting up the connection on the wii you need the code from the bottom of the router - make sure you have "caps lock" ON on the wii when you set up.

3) now everything works perfectly on the wii - you dont even need the pc on! just the router.

good luck IAN.

Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed.
