I am having a problem connecting to the internet. When I attempt to connect I receive an error that basically says 'you have limited or no access to the internet". I have contacted the local IP provider and they tell me that the problem is with my security software Symantec. The also told me that because of the security software, I am not connecting with the appropriate IP address. I need your assistance please.

Try to uninstall your Symantec security software and then try connecting to the internet w/o or with other kind of security software. if the error is still there then maybe your onboard networking device is not working.

Limited Connection Error


A limited connection on a Windows PC usually means that there is no connection to the internet on that segment. That is if you connect to the printer via a network switch or LAN. Newer printers can act as a DHCP server/router assigning IP addresses to LAN clients. It has no impact on your LAN if you do not want or need a connection to the internet. However if you want to access the internet from this PC I suggest you get a separate router and use that as the DHCP server on your LAN. Connect the PC and the printer to the router and disable the DHCP server on the printer. Also make sure that all devices (PCs and printer) are using the router as the default gateway. Once again if you don't need an internet connection the limited connection shouldn't worry you.

When attempting to set up or make network connections on a Windows computer, you may encounter a Limited Or No Connectivity error message similar to the following:
Limited or no connectivity: The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might be unable to access the Internet or some network resources.

This message can result from any of several different technical glitches or configuration problems. Follow these steps to resolve Limited Or No Connectivity errors in Windows.
1. Determine whether your network access is functioning properly (that you can reach local network resources and the Internet). If you are using a broadband Internet and Windows XP Service Pack 2, this message is often a false error report. See Microsoft Knowledge Base article 892896 for details on how to work around this error appropriately.
2. If your network access is non-functional. continue to the following steps.
3. If your computer connects to the network through a broadband router , resetting (powering off and on) the router may resolve the issue. If not using a broadband router, or if resetting your router only temporarily resolves the issue and the error message re-appears later, continue to the following steps.
If connecting to your network using Wi-Fi and using wireless security, your WEP or other security key may not be set properly. Check the wireless security configuration on your computer's network adapter and update if it necessary.

You may occasionally get an error message that reads "This connection has limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources." It indicates that your PC is having a problem trying to access your network device to connect to the Internet. Very often, a bug that typically affects Windows XP Service Pack 2 causes this error message. This bug causes a loss of your network connectivity in workstations that use Microsoft's L2TP-based VPN (virtual private networking) client to connect to the NAT-based networks. You can fix the "Limited or No Connectivity" problem in a few steps. (If your connection works but you still get the error message, go to Section 2 to learn how to disable it.)

Review the following symptoms and determine if you experience any of them after you install the Windows XP Service Pack 2:

You get the error message "Limited or No Connectivity" when you attempt to connect to your network.

You have a problem connecting to your local area network or to the Internet.
You keep on receiving an error message: "Acquiring IP Address" message. If you experience these symptoms after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2, then this bug is causing the problem. In this case, go to Step 2; otherwise, skip to Section 3 Download the Microsoft patch (KB884020) from the Microsoft website. Run this update to install it. Www.ssnet.org cannot be accessed from current browsers ,why?


Interesting, I received the error too. This is what the error said.

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Apparently SSNET limits access from certain web browsers. You will probably have to find out what web browser they accept traffic from and install it.

Trying to connect to wifi usb connector and keep getting error code 52203


I'm assuming you are talking about the nintendo DS. Here is the info on that error code straight from nintendo:

Error Code: 52203
The Access Point you are attempting to connect from is not connected to the internet or a firewall is blocking traffic necessary for connecting to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. What to do will depend on where you are trying to connect from: What to do:
    If you have multiple connection files saved to your Nintendo DS, the error message you received can help determine which connection file may be experiencing a problem:
    • Errors ending in 0 = connection file 1
    • Errors ending in 1 = connection file 2
    • Errors ending in 2 = connection file 3
    • Errors ending in 3 = Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
  • Verify that your router is connected to the internet when attempting to connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If you are not able to access the internet on your computer, then there is a problem with your internet connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more information.

Error #105 TCP connection to the server timed out.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have received this error, you are not using the latest RealPlayer. RealPlayer 8 Basic is a FREE, recommended update available for Windows 95/98/NT and recent Macintosh systems.
If your system meets the minimum system requirements, it is recommend that you update your player.
Error #105 TCP connection to the server timed out.
The attempt to connect to the TCP server took longer than allowed. This problem may be caused by a high network load (i.e. too many people on the internet) or the server maybe down.
If the load is too high, you may try later or you can increase how long your computer waits by changing the Network timeout values under the Connection tab in the RealPlayer Preferences. If the server is down, the only solutions are to try a different server or contact the server administrator for the site you are trying to access.
