Question about ACCO Brands 3250 S26 Shredder

Rexel 3250 S3 wont stay in continuous mode

This shredder was working fine shredding 20 ish sheets at a time and machine staying on then all of a sudden stopped and will not not stay on will get half way through an A4 sheet and then stop until I press the grey forward button again.
Can anyone help?

    Super fast but unfortunatly had machine turned off all last night, still does it with shred basket out and we only shred paper from books so no staples

    Hi did hard reset last night, nothing jamming machine also rexel number is now 08456586600, cheers but looks as though I have to take it apart

    Dont think belt prob as will shred just need to keep pressing green button and works fine in reverse

    Thanks for all your comment but I ended up removing the top hoovering paper dust and oiling and now seems to be working ok?

Hi,

Initially, possibly a mechanical problem such as a worn belt or gear. Would an "Illustrated Parts List and Service Instruction" help? Pls check out this document.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Try a hard reset first..Unplug the machine from power source, wait about 10 minutes, and try again..

    Also try emptying the shredded contents first. It could be that the shred collector is full and obstructing the shredder. Also look for any object like staplers/paper clips, etc that may be blocking the shredder.

    It is also recommended to wait at least 30 minutes cool down time for every 60 minutes of operational time, or else the thermal overload protector device will switch off the motor.

    Also make sure that you do not overload the feeder. Do not use more than 15 sheets at a time, to be on the safe side.

    Try pressing the blue button to reverse, separate the sheets and re-feed. If the shredder jams in reverse, tear off the sheets and press the green button.

    Should none of these steps fix the issue, please call Rexel customer service at 0 1905 823300.

    BTW, did you get an email from Fixya stating that there was a response to your query? Just inquiring, because there is an issue with the Fixya email server at the moment..

    If none of the solutions worked, it is most likely an issue with the motor/gears or the feeder wires to the motor. Hard to say without actually opening up the unit for inspection.

    If your machine is still under warranty, I'd recommend calling the point of purchase. If not, you may have to contact Rexel customer Support at the number I provided earlier..

    Oh, and for the hard reset, dont simply switch off the machine. Physically disconnect it from the AC source for at least 10 minutes..

Some shredders have a thermal fuse embedded in the motor windings to detect overheating and shut it down. If the light is staying on, the shredder may not be repairable.

Why wont my staples titanium shredder continuously shred?


Not giving a model number, it's hard to say. But quite probably after use for 20 mins, the machine starts getting hot, and then it shuts down while the machine cools down.

I had the same issue with a shredder of mine. It prevents the machine burning itself out.

If you want one that just keeps going and going without heat issues, you have to pay more for a better shredder. Unfortunately.

Most likely the cutters are still stuffed with paper shreds and needs to be dismantled and cleaned

The Royal cx-6 shredder is a small consumer shredder rated for "up to 6 sheets at a time" so yes it will jam with anything more that 6.
If running it in reverse won't work you will have to try to open it up and see if you can manually turn things to get the paper back out...there is no other way if it wont run in reverse...hopefully when you have the paper removed the machine will still function.

I have a 10X confetti paper shredder model # PCUA 29054E. When I put the paper in it shredds spuratically. It will shred then stop then continue then stop completely. If I back it up it might continue but...


Lubricate the machine....put shredder oil onto a sheet of paper and shred it...do this a number of times to get the oil down into the cutting blades... x-cut shredders should be oiled regularly.

My shredder won't continuously shred a piece of paper. I have to reverse it then turn it on again multiple times to shred just one piece of paper. Can I fix this?


If it is a x-cut shredder try oiling ( with a lightweight shredder oil ) onto a sheet of paper then shredding the sheet of paper to get the oil down into the cutting teeth....also try cleaning the "eyes" which are in the middle were you insert the paper..( they may be dirty.)

Should not have a problem with 1 sheet....so...have you ever "oiled" the machine.????? Pour some shredder oild inside to lubricate the cutting blades and try to run the machine in "reverse" for 20 secs or so...then put some oil onto a sheet of paper and try shredding the sheet of paper.

Pour some shredder oil in the throat where you normally insert the paper...put some shredder oil directly onto 1 sheet of paper and try shredding 1 sheet. If it wont even shred 1 sheet I would ask is the shredder running???

Old Rexel 1250 - falsely detecting safety cover is open


You'll have to unplug the machine, then remove the screws front (inside door or cabinet) and rear to remove the top cover. Insure that the safety cover arm which contacts the microswitch is not broken or the microswitch is out of adjustment.
