My son has been given a kenwood kdc 7027 cd radio player, it was in his neighbours garage, it was found when clearing out after his death, i paid £15 for the code yesterday, we tried it but all we could do was put the code in , we didnt know what to press after that for the code to be accepted, can you help as it keeps flashing up wait now, it takes an hour to let me try again. thanks rooty

this code was created and entered into the radio by the owner of this radio, not by kenwood this is an antitheft feature that cannot be undone without that person's help. Kenwood will not be able to "decode" this unit unfortunately
The home position switch from the angle of the front display is not pushed correctly. the problem is mechanical.
If you glue a little tip of plastic between the actuator and the homeposition switch, your problem is history.
In my case, a tip of a little tiewrap did it.
According to Kenwood's car audio FAQ, the stereo needs to be brought to a Kenwood service center to be decoded. You may run into a problem, however, as Kenwood requires a receipt or other proof of purchase in order to prove you are the rightful owner of the radio.
