Question about Pioneer AVIC-N1 Car DVD Player

Memory Navi mode

I just got a car with the AVIC N1 unit . The GPS navigation was working fine until I pressed the menu button and don't remember what other buttons I pressed. Anyway, now I cannot zoom on the map nor will it show detailed street mapping. Whenever I try to change the setting, I get a message at the top of the screen..."cannot function in memory navi mode".

Any way of cleaning this up?

Thanks a bunch. The car I bought already had this installed so there was no user's manual. I found a few pdf files on the net but none addressed this particular problem.

I did not see a "reset" button in the menu....the only thing I saw was the "return to factory setting" button...but I'm afraid to push that selection.

What you need is an updated Pioneer navigation DVD disc. You can find them here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/Navigation/UpgradeDiscs/CNDV-70MTP

    Dear vsdude,
Please do NOT press the button "return to factory setting".
You can download owners manual at www.pioneer.com.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Panasonic gps screen dead

Disc would not of killed the entire unit, it may of clogged up the laser eye where it reads the disc. Use canned air or shop air and throughly blow out the unit. If problem persists contact Panasonic for replacement or repair.

You need to get an up to date navi disc. There is a procedure to down grade it, so it would read the yellow disc. But it will mess up the unit if you do it wrong. Beside half of the current info won't be on the yellow disc anyway, because it is so out dated. Goodluck.

Time settings

Press the reset button. It the small flush button on the faceplate. Insert the navi disc, at start up it would ask you to enter daylight saving mode or not(+/-). The graphics are in the navi manu, or you can import pictures from cd or dvd that have picture files. Goodluck.

Pioneer avic n1 video by pass but now doesnt work when i upgraded w n3 disc

I am pretty sure that pioneer does this so you cant bypass it. The n1, you just have to ground the parking brake wire, the n2 you have to solder the 2 points together under the piece of tape, the n3 you have to move over the switch on the side of the unit. Which all of these void your warranty anyway but I think that is why people eventually downgrade the the old dvds.
