A few days ago my machine (FJS 1225 W) decided that it won't start - as soon as the yellow power button was pressed it would make a repeated clicking sound in the door lock area - repeating about once every second. This would continue regardless of whether the door was open or closed. The only way to stop it was to turn the machine off. If the door was closed and the start button pressed then nothing would happen - the light above the start button continued to flash.
For some reason this morning it was subtly different. Although the clicking still continues if the power is on and the door is open, if I close the door (with the power still on) it stops the clicking and the door lock light comes on (and the door is indeed locked). However no programme is running, and if I press the start button still nothing happens - it just says the programme time and the green light above the start button keeps flashing.
I just have made a video that you can see here - while making it the machine is back the behaviour 1 - i.e. clicks with door open or closed:
Many thanks - Tom
Ok,
this is the fix:
No
payload. Close the door. Press off, then press on. Then enter a program
starting by selecting the fabric and the others as usual. Do not press start,
instead press the slip button to advance the programme to the very last phase,
ie drain and empty. Then press start. It will perform this operation with no
load and pump out the “no water”. This part takes 5 minutes. After the 5 mins
the programme will end and the machine will beep annoyingly, but the computer
will be reset and you can clear the program and use the machine as normal.
Why?
I had
the same problem. The stupid computer inside remembers the program whilst it’s
off and unplugged. What has happened is you accidently pressed start and start
again to pause it in very quick succession. This confuses the computer and it
thinks that a program is in progress. This is why it wants to close the door. There
is no problem with the latch (unless it is a separate problem). You have to let
it play out a program to reset it, which is why you can play the very last “drain”
segment.
Question.
Presumably
there’s a way to reset the computer either by a secret button combo or shorting
out two pins from the computer box. I don’t know. If someone knows this please
tell me.
Good Luck!
Odd fault but ptobably a module fault - expensive!!
I would say the "Door Interlock" needs replacing.
Strangely enough my friends machine failed to start and the error code E40 pointed to the door interlock. I dismantled it and managed to get it to work again. At the moment the machine is working okay again but I will order a new Interlock online from C&G Domestics £22-94 inc P&P.
The clicking you refer to is normal but it should only ocur three or four times at the start of a program and at the end.....Hope this helps!

Hi
my machine also will not start. It started to put water in, and then just stopped and refused to start
my problem is exactly the same but i have a more basic model. it all rather sounds expensive.
Machine was stopping during programme, clothes still soaking cleaned debris out of pump but now have a fault
on off flashing also timesaver flashing slower pump starts for a few minutes
So select programme press start door locks then above happens
MACHINES STOPS IN MID CYCLE. STAYS AT RINSE AND DOOR CLOSED TURNS OFF. PAUSE BUTTON IS FLASHING. AFTER PRESSING START BUTTON AGAIN MACHINE WILL WILL CONTINUE UNTILL IT STOPS AGAIN IN MID CYCLE , AND THE SAME SITUATION REPEATS ITSELF
