Question about Creative Labs Zen Digital Media Player

1 Answer

I can't get album art to appear on my Creative Zen (4GB)

I recently had to reformat my Zen and now I can not for the life of me figure out how to get album art to appear, I've looked all over the internet and tried everything people have suggested, but it never works. I've tried adding it through Media Monkey, Windows Media Player and the software that comes with it, but with no results. I wonder if I accidentally activated a setting on my Zen or something, but I have no idea where to search for it.
I've updated the Firmware twice now, hoping that would fix it, but to no avail.
It's driving me crazy!
Please help me!
I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out how to do it through Windows Media Player, since that's where I have all my music.

Thanks,
Trevs

same thing for my 32GB Zen.
    No art whatsoever.
I add media using drag & drop in windows explorer.
The tracks DO have album art in WMP.

My problem is very similar. I get album art, but 2/3 of the songs in my player show Micheal Jackson's Thriller album art when playing. Very aggrivating!

I have the 8 gb version and it's great, but all(exept for two) show this thin lizzy ultimate collection album art cover. which indeed should be ONE of the albums, but not ALL.

    Any one?

This is F'ing ridiculous. I HAD album art, but wanted to trim up my songs by starting all over, and now even the albums that previously had artwork are gone...

Though this might be a bit late - Try WinAMP. I use Winamp and EVERY SINGLE album art gets transferred. Hope this helps!

My Creative Zen 4gb will not appear in Itunes ?

Hello,

To convert iTunes music for Creative ZEN, you shall download TunePat audio converter from a website. You shall run TunePat audio converter and iTunes simultaneously and set TunePat as the default burning drive for iTunes. You may also create an iTunes playlist to hold the songs you want to convert for Creative ZEN.
Once the conversion is completed, you can find the MP3 or WMA songs in the output folder, with all ID3 tags and album information intact. Then you can open Creative MediaSource and sync the converted to your Creative ZEN player.

Take care.

I did not use my Zen MP3 4GB player for several months. On attempting to re-start it, I was unable to get anything except a blank -although lit - display screen. The player has been charged for many hours,...

try to drain the charge of the battery. the try to recharge it. most white screen issue of creative zen is due to power surge specially when it's connected to a usb port.

No Album Art

Was there a picture within the music album folder? You can manually put it there by opening the album folder and insert a picture of your choice along with the music.
It should recognize the picture and appear when that particular album or song within the album plays

Creative Zen - can't download music from XP SP2

When you plug the Mp3 player into 2 computers running slightly different versions of XP, a reformatting occurs which will cause it not to work on one PC or the other. You must reformat your player for the home computer. Actually, you might want to check the firmware also: Go to Creative's website and double-check the firmware - it will also give you the best way to reformat your player:

C cover art does not transfer to my zen vision m, only the music tracks transfer

A few possibilities. Go to http://193.95.171.83/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=224,E=0000000000373151655,K=1742,Sxi=15,Case=obj(8179),Kb=ww_english_add,VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com/

for more details

Creative ZEN players do not currently support album art from Rhapsody version 4.0.
Album art is either embedded in a track, or exists as a thumbnail image in a separate file, allowing one album art file to be associated with an album. Currently, Rhapsody only supports album art embedded in the track. Future versions of Rhapsody are expected to support thumbnail versions.
Creative Media Explorer or Windows Media Player 10 or 11 can be used to transfer music purchased from Rhapsody to a player with album art included.

Album Art is supported by Creative ZEN, Creative ZEN V Plus, ZEN V, Vision:M and ZEN Vision players.
The ZEN Vision (PF1150) requires a firmware update for Album Art. You can download the updated firmware:
If you experience any difficulty transferring Album Art with Windows Media Player 10 or 11, to ZEN Vision:M, delete WMPInfo.xml (see below), and then transfer the tracks again.

Getting album art

I used MediaMonkey I have successfully encoded over 1000 mp3 with the album artwork interlaced in the ID3 tag. The only issue I have now is that some of the artwork shows up and some doesn't? If I open the same music in a media player that supports album artwork it shows up fine?

Album art

I honestly don't know much about how MediaMonkey works. Many people swear by it, but I've always been quite happy with how WMP11 manages things.

Anyways... The first thing you need to do is make sure that MediaMonkey can see your music library - the one you have stored on your computer somewhere (in many media managers, this is called folder monitoring). Next, go through your library, using MediaMonkey, and ensure all of your songs display with album art. Add appropriate images to any that are missing it.

Now, this is the important part: Once you are satisfied with the library setup with MediaMonkey, everything is tagged how you want it all, and so on -- boot your player into Recovery Mode, and run Disk Cleanup and then Reformat Disk. I know this sounds like a royal pain in the ass, but trust me hon - this is the only sure way to purge the player's database of all traces of whatever you were previously using to sync your media, so it will recognize and accept MediaMonkey's way of doing things! Once you've done all that, restart your player, set everything back up (including a name), then plug it in and sync it with MediaMonkey. When it's all done syncing, you should have album art displaying now!

Keep us posted, and good luck!

use WMP11 to sync..??
Okay... If you have installed any of the Creative software, then you'll need to go to the Creative Support site and download the update patch for Media Explorer. This should resolve the album art issue you're having. It's #5 under "Applications".
