Contrary to the other response, which isn't correct, the GTI does not have a normal wiring method like most dual voice coil subs.

A standard DVC sub has a positive and a negative on each side of the sub. The W15GTI mk2 has two positives on one side, and two negatives on the other, with large jumpers on each side. This means you run one wire to each side, and the bridge on each side relays the signal to the other coil. As it's a dual 6 ohm (yes, it's not a generic dual 4 ohm speaker), you get a 3 ohm load if you run it parallel. Which means using the jumpers as they come standard, with one wire to each side of the sub. If you were using a 2 channel amp to it, and if that 2 channel amp cannot be bridged mono, you would have to remove the bridges on the sub and wire it that way. This would be far less than optimal, as subs should always be run mono off a single or bridged channel.

I realize this is a necro but it was high up on a google search, and as someone that owns this sub, I thought I should correct the prior response which was misleading.

The JBL W15GTI mk2 is very much the opposite in wiring compared to most subs. You're woofer should have come with a manual explaining this (or at least mine did), and if not I think the JBL website explains it with a pdf manual that you can download.

Your speaker has dual voice coils. You can hook it up so that it is 2 ohm or 4 ohm depending on wat the amp can handle. You can try hooking it up by matching the colors or like any other speaker.

Need a wiring diagram to hook up two 10 inch subs and 15 inch sub a kicker 250.1 amp

Series or parallel? Single, dual voice coil? I'm not sure you have the right size amp for all 3 speakers. And I wouldn't wire the 10's together with the 15. The larger sub is going to have a larger power demand. You could wire the 2-10's together on this amp, and get another mono amp for the 15.

Testing speaker

You might try taking a C or D sized battery and two short pieces of wire. Hook each wire to the speaker. Then touch one to the top of the battery and the other to the bottom and see if you get the same response. This test works good if you have a speaker that isn't really marked pos and neg to find out which is which. If the speaker cone moves outward, it's in correct phase. If it moves backward, it's connected out of phase. I've never tried a 10 inch speaker with this trick so, if nothing is happening, you might try a 9 volt. It might take more juice to move that larger driver.

Mackie 15 inch replacement speaker

To determine polarity of a sub, take a 9 volt battery and two one foot pieces of wire. Connect each wire to each terminal on the sub. Then touch one wire to one side of the 9 volt battery terminal and the other wire to the other side terminal. If the subs cone pushes upwards that is the correct way to hook it up(in phase which is normal). If the subs cone pulls down, is is 180 degrees out of phase. I hope that this answers your question.

How to hook it up for one ohm

oh yes the JBL GTi W15GTI Mkll. this subwoofer is a dual 6 ohm voice coil subwoofer. This is impossible to run this sub alone and get 1 ohm you will need another JBL GTi W15kll. the lowest impedance you can go to is 3 ohms. you can achieve this by connecting the positive terminals together and then running a wire from the two positives to the positive terminal on the amp. then connecting the negative terminals together and then running a wire to the negative terminal on the amp. this is a real nice sub it just has that one down fall of having a six ohm voice coil.

The easiest way to explain it would be for you to go to the following link. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=3
On one side of both woofers positive (+) and negative (-) are connected together. Then you will need to hook the remaining + terminals together and go to the + of the amp. Then you do the same with the - terminals. Hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions on it.
