Question about Compaq Presario 5000 PC Desktop

Entering bios please guide me how to get into the bios settings. I have upgraded with seagate barracuda 80 GB hard disk, which is recognised only 31.4 GB, what I have to do to use 80 GB. thanks, RAM

The bios wont support anything higher. Go the the website and flash it with the new bios download.

Just installed seagate barracuda 250gb 6gb internal hard drive with a gigabyte ga-945pl-s3 mother board and it will only recognise 130Gig! been through the bios but nothing stands out to say enable larger...


The maximum hard drive you can install depends upon the BIOS. You MAY BE able to install a larger hard drive if the BIOS upgrade will allow it. I suggest you go to the Gigagyte WEB site to check on this possibility.

I am afraid the device is dead. You may be able to recover the data from a professional recovery firm but there is no other way.

My seagate barracuda 80 gb sata was unable to format completely how to solve this problem? pls helm me


Press either delete or f2 during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

this process should enable a complete format

How to make sata hard disk a slave???


Look at the jumper settings. These jumpers are located near the data cable and the power port of the hard disk. Usually by default, this jumper is set to "Master". To make it a slave, just remove the black or blue jumper or please refer to the jumper guide table printed in you hard disk's label.

Hard disk I/O error cannot formate harddisk shows no fixed disks how to solve


Please try to check with your cmos system if it was detected, if not means your harddrive was absolutely damage.
