I wouldnt use that service man. If your set is shutting down its most likely do to the shutdown circuitry being triggerd by a defective component. I would recomend contacting someone skilled with phillips model televisions, most sets that play and then shutdown usually have a problem with a single component that is triggering shutdown, a skilled repair man will test the various voltages to determine the cause of the shutdown.

I have a Samsung HL-P5067W/HL DLP tv. When I turn it on cold the lamp light blinks on and off. The fan makes a high pitch sound a relay clicks the TV goes back to standby and the lamp light starts blinking...

This sounds like a lazy lamp--that is getting hard to start. Try a new lamp first. If you are inclined to do so--get a bard bulb and install in the old lamp housing and save some money. Get a real PHILLIPS bulb--it will last a while--compared to cheap generics that are good for maybe 6 months !!

Hi! My toshiba 2100td tv is over 10 years old and last few years it's having weird problems. When it's turned completely off (not in standby) and when I turn it on, the screen blinks for a 10-

The real problem here is its age, a lot of these sets of that age critically needed parts are just no longer available.

I repair them but the real risk is someone fixed it, a few months later it develops another problem etc etc etc.

Ten years is now a days a long life for a TV.

My set turns off by itself after about 15 mins playing then I turn it back on cant get it to stay on longer no matter what I try

Hi

Well my first recommendation is for you to check your fans just to verify they are working properly and that you tv is not overheating also you might want to clean them wile your at it,another thing could be a warn out bulb if you have a Phillips lamp that could last you from 6000 to 8000 lamp hours and if you have a generic lamp that could go from 3500 to 4500 lamp hours and if to old could be causing your tv to start acting up,or perhaps the ballast, witch is the small circuit board in charge of sending the correct amount of current to the lamp is not working properly.you can go WWW.FIXYOURDLP.COM for more troubleshooting

Please rate this if it was helpful,as I do this for free.

Have a 6 month old 42" LG Plasma....already had it repaired once. The tv sometimes will turn on but has no picture or if it does have a picture, it lasts around 5-10 minutes and then nothing. Still...

I would definitely exchange it for another if it's still under warranty. If your having all these problems within the first six months, chances are you just got a lemon and the problems will persist in the future. You might consider upgrading to a better brand name. LG (Lucky Goldstar) is a
South Korean company that manufactures larger appliances, refridgerators, washers and dryers etc. Just a thought, another LG will probably do ya fine though, I would certainly exchange this one out if possible.
Good luck

Phillips 60 in. rear projection approx. 10 years old

This is a common problem with the older models. The opt chip fails. You can get a repair kit at www.magnavoxhelp.com. After a few months of getting smaller and smaller the audio and video will go out but the power light will remain lit.

One thing that comes to mind when you say high pitched sound is the HOT ( Horizontal Output Transistor). You may be able to find one at fry's electronics. They are pretty cheap. If you are handy and know something about electronics you may be able to replace it. I am not a TV tech, I have a background in electronics and like to play with them from time to time. Not sure this will help but good luck
