On your desktop PC, connected to the router via an Ethernet cable, open your internet browser (Internet Explorer?) and type in 192.168.2.1 into the address field.
That will open the router's configuration page for you.

Click Login, Submit {should not related to your problem but if you have left the default password as blank, don't; set one of your own up a.s.a.p.)

On the left hand panel under the "Wireless" section;

should be an entry for "Channel"; if this is set to Auto, leave it as it means the router can change channels automatically.
If not, it should allow you to select Channel numbers 1 - 13 inclusive; choose one.

there should also be a field called "Protected Mode"; set that to "On".

hope this will help

directly connect the dsl modem to your pc and then restart your system. once your up and running the pc should automatically create a connection with the modem device. once you have established an internet connewction this way, shut down the system and reboot. after complete bootup, unplug the power supply cords to both the modem and the router. now plug im the modem, wait 1 minute and plug in the router. after about a minute you should now be able to connect to the internet both by your pc and wireless connections.

I have a Shure mic hooked up to my emachines T3092 through a Behringer mixing board. The board works fine, but I am getting over modulated scratchy voice when I record to cool edit pro. Tried every...

Which particular mic?

Go through the signal chain. Mic to mixer to pc.

All the level changes are suspect, what busses are you using...

e.g.
mic to channel 1 on mixer.
trim on mixer 1
fader on mixer 1
L/R balance
fader on L/R
which output from mixer are you using

Then the windows mixer (start/run "sndvol32.exe")
adjust the volume, WAVE, mic, etc.

My first instinct is the windows mic level.

Get dish network to work with hp SR5505F COMPAQ PRESARIO COMPUTER

You can not change channels on Satellite with your TV tuner card. The satellite box decodes the sat signal (it is sent encrypted) you can run S-Video/RCA/HDMI depending on the video card input, but you will be required to change the channel on the Dish box. The TV card can only change channels on broadcast (over the air) channels, you can attach an antenna and it will use the NTSC tuner to change analog channels (if they are still available) and the ATSC tuner to change digital/HD broadcast channels. This card (from your description can ONLY deal with broadcast TV, You will need a TV card with a QAM tuner for unscrambled digital cable. There is no solution for directly interfacing with Satellite on a PC or Mac (DirectTV or Dish) the signal from the satellite is encrypted and requires (at least for DirectTV, a fairly complicated decryption setup to function, this is handled by the tuner box/card combination. Sorry your setup will not support changing the channel on the PC, you may be able to find some kind of software that can utilize an IR transmitter to change the channels on your satellite box, similar to the way a Tivo or other DVR can talk to cable boxes, but that is the best you will be able to do as far as channel changing.

Having trouble 2Wire 1800hg router and Vista connectivity issues; dropping internet. Any ideas?

It could be a number of things. Most likely is interfearence. It could be caused by a router near your home that in using the same channel.Log into your router or use the 2wire control panel on your computer and change your channel to 11 or 1 .Also mixed mode wireless settings can be problematic.Try using 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11n.   Another cause are 2.4 ghz cordless phones that use same frequency as the router.
Other things can wack it out as well like a microwave or if you are moving the notebook around the house the ductwork in your home could block the wireless signal.
I've had the same trouble for weeks. I broke down and bought a Belkin Wireless N router and had no trouble since.
Sorry for the long winded answer.

Hooked up dlink to my dsl modem and hooked up the router. Since installing the router I have been having a problem with telephone incoming calls am getting a shrill loud noise and cant receive incoming...

With DSL the signal comes in through phone lines and using a DA converter. The router is nothing but a slitter. One input and many or 1 or 2 out puts. You should not use a router when a Phone is involved. Remove the phone from the router and plug it into the wall outlet whith the DA converter on it. I have this same set-up here. I know exactly what you are saying here!!!!

Wireless internet

dear,
what about the modem. are u using a modem for dsl and then wireless router. if this is the condition, then u have to give different ip addresses to each. like 192.168.1.1 for modem and 192.168.0.1 or 0.2.......so on . then both will work and then configure the wireless after this. hope u understood what i mean to say. ask if further required or condition changes.

Hello,

I found this information on another site, but it may help.

Go into your airport utility and up at the top hit internet. Go to the DHCP and look at the DHCP lease. Mine was set up for one hour. I just set it up for 365 Days. So that means, in theory, I should stay connected and I would have to hit that Renew DHCP lease once a year. :-)
It has worked fine ever since.

I upgraded my Linksys WRV54G firmware from 2.39.2 to 2.39.2e and completely lost internet connectivity

hi there,
have you tried to reset your wireless router so that the default settings are being used, then try reconfiguring it again for your Internet connection.. then try to connect wireless again ... sounds like your router may have lost its settings which happens for some firmware upgrades.....

or

Wireless Interferences
Neighboring wireless networks or any appliance that operates on the same frequency as your wireless device (e.g. 2.4 GHz) may cause interference and therefore may affect your wireless connection and signal.
Common sources of interference are:
  • Neighboring wireless networks
  • Microwave ovens
  • 2.4 GHz cordless telephones
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Wireless baby monitors
To solve the problem, change the channel and SSID on your Access Point. Preferred channels to use are 1, 6 and 11 since they’re considered non-overlapping channels.
