Hi, at power on via either method (remote or manual button press) I get audio but no screen image, except maybe 1 out of 25 tries, then it works fine...short of not turning it off what's up. I have removed all other power draws from the socket, pulled the plug and let it completely power down....I think the main circuits that get powered up are not getting enough juice to kick them into a higher state to correctly power on the CRT sweep...I have no problem cracking the back open and working inside (solder new power supply or resisters?)...suggestions TV is Sony KV - 36XBR450

1 Use the remote to scan your device for the proper code. If the direct-entry method does not work, or your device is not listed in the back of the manual or online, you can try this procedure to find your device's code.
2 Turn on your remote device. Use either the device's power-on button, or use its remote control to turn it on.
3 Press and hold the mode button for the target device. Hold the button down for about 3 seconds, then release it. It should now be flashing.
4 Press the remote's power button. Note: use the generic power button, not the TV power button.
5 Press the Up or Down arrow button until the device turns off. You will have to do this repeatedly to scan through all codes.
Do not press the arrow buttons too quickly, or you might skip over the correct code.
The mode button for the device will flash rapidly 8 times when you have scanned all the codes for that device.
6 Lock in the code. When your device successfully powers off, press the Pound sign (#) to store that code in the remote.
7 Test the connection. Turn on the device with the power button, then test the other buttons such as Play, Fast Forward, etc. If those work too, you're set. If not, repeat the process again until you find a code that does.
Method 3 of 3: By Menu
1 Turn on your TV. Make sure it's connected to your Dish Network, then press the MENU button.
The menu screen should show on your television screen:
2 Select Settings. Locate and select the Remote Control button.
The Remote Manager screen should display on your screen:
3 Select the device you want to learn. From the buttons on the right, select TV, DVD, or AUX.
4 Select the Lookup Code button:
5 Select the sort criteria and device brand. Then click the Next button:
Test the device at this point. If the remote works as expected, select the "Yes" button; otherwise, select "No" to try the next code in the list.
Repeat this process until a working code is found, or continue by selecting "Enter Model" to find the device code.
6 Enter your model number in the search field. You can enter all, or part of the number.
Select the device model number from the list, then select Next. Test the device. If it works, you're good to go! If not, and you've tried all the other methods, your device is not supported with the Dish Network remote.

It is illegal and unsafe to watch the monitor while driving. I assume this is needed for an RV or something.
STEP ONE. Ground the E-Brake wire. No matter which method you use, you must ground the brake detection wire. I suggest you tap it into the ground wire on your wiring harness (ensures a good ground).
1. FACTORY RESET METHOD (Temporary) (This isn't the most effective, but it is the easiest to try, so it's worth a shot since it apparently works on some units.) ** Go to the Menu ** Get to the Settings Menu ** Select <yes> to Reset to Factory Settings. Credit: DKA
Have recently heard complaints of this method not being permanent, as this is needed everytime they want to watch a DVD. Also, radio and screen angle presets are lost.

2. AUDIO CD METHOD (Permanent) ** Insert Audio CD ** Press PLAY ** Press STOP twice on remote ** Enter 26604 on remote ** Press ENTER ** Take out Audio CD and Insert a DVD Credit: Myself via a DUAL Tech

3. DVD METHOD (Permanent) ** Insert a DVD ** Let it play until you hear sound ** Press STOP twice on remote ** Enter 26604 ** Press ENTER Credit: Adam P.
The blue warning screen should immediately go away after pressing the last digit of "26604." Still press ENTER as a precaution.

The "auto" mode isn't quite presented correctly in the documentation or posts I've seen...after MUCH trial and error (and about 3 hous) I've been able to set-up ANY infrared device, either by "auto" or learn. (Although maybe not "fully".)
AUTO Method
1. Press & Hold (about 3 sec.) the [DEVICE] button on the JUMBO Remote....llight will stay solid. 2. Now just press the [POWER] button (only) ONCE while pointing at the device...it will start sending codes approximately every second. (Don't keep pressing the power button as instructions indicate.) 3. TIMING IS EVERYTHING HERE. (It may take 5 minutes to find your devices code.) 4. AS SOON AS the power goes off...press the [ENTER] button on the JUNBO Remote. 5. Now pressing the [POWER] button should power up/down the device.
---- any buttons not programmed will have to be handled using the LEARN method ---
LEARN Method
1. Press & Hold (about 3 sec.) the [DEVICE] button on the JUMBO Remote....it'll stay solid. 2. Press the [LEARN] button on the JUMBO Remote. (light will immediately blink rapidly.) 3. Now Press the {NEEDED} button to program. (light will stay solid) 4. Now (1 to 2 inches away) have the ORIGINAL Remote pointed at the JUMBO Remote and press the {DESIRED} button on the ORIGINAL Remote. 5. It blinks rapidly while sending...then a slower steady blink once "LEARNED" correctly.
*** Not all buttons work properly with the "LEARN method". Some you will need to "associate" with an alternate button on the JUMBO Remote. ***
