I have a Badger Insinkerator Model 5-81A. I put some asparagus ends into it to dispose of them. They were ground up but water is now coming back up when I turn it on. I have lost the directions and think that an Allen wrench is used in the center of the bottom of the unit to turn it by hand and dislodge what is stuck. Is that right. I pressed the reset button which helped a bit but there is still standing water.

Yes..an allen wrench was supplied with this unit (I believe its just a standard 1/4 " allen) it goes underneath, in the center, and turn in both directions to free clogged unit(do not turn power on while doing this!)
I would also check your trap..could be installed to high, and letting water stand in diposer (or just clogged trap)

Yes that is right. keep turning the allen wrench untill it turns easily. then push the reset hard and try it. you dhould hear the unit run. if its running and you still have standing water, the the drain lines have plugged.

Model 81

Roto rooter the drain pipe in the wall. It's plugged. The water goes up the vent pipe to the roof that's why the water comes back in the sink when you shut off the disposer.

Is there a reset button on the insinkerator 5-plus-7 model?

There is usually a reset button on the edge of the bottom. But before you take the unit out, get a hex key that fits the end of the rotor in the middle of the bottom. Put a mirror under there, as it is easily visible from straight underneath, but not visible from the side. Work the rotor back and forth with the hex key (also called an Allen wrench.). When you do free it up, and run it again, use lots of water. Good luck.

Take apart the tubular drain under the sink.
Put bucket under the disposal and turn on disposal. Stuff should come flying out.
Hang some rags over the disposal to direct stuff downward.

Water is coming out the bottom of my Badger 1 disposal. Solution???

Check the fittings, the hoses could be loose... If the leak isn't coming from there then you have a seal leaking or a rust through that is causing water to leak and would need to replace the disposal.
