I am not familiar with apple - However
Apple suggests resetting the printer system in the link below https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203159 Also driver may need updating which can be downloaded from brothers web site.
Other possibility I thought of is the port being used may not match the port that printing uses. port 515 TCP could be being blocked by a firewall of some kind or is not set up correctly.

Look for the drivers for F300 series - you may need to download them from HP's site. They're generic, but they work - unless you're trying to print through Airport!
In the setup of the Airport network settings, you have to make sure that AppleTalk is actually turned on (or the box is checked). When using Mac's with Leopard and you use both the ethernet port and airport off and on, the OS tends to deactivate AppleTalk. Its not a set thing, just random.
as far as i rember apple os, you hve to delete the printer which was connected through usb cable.
Disconnect mfc from mac. Connect the mfc to airport. restart airport and after that your mac. the mac os should find the printer.
Deanna,
if the mfc is not that old, take it back to the dealer and ask for changing it to a wireless printer (extension: CW). Do you really need the fax function? If not, try this printer: DCP 750CW. If yes, get the MFC 845 CW.
The CN printer have to be connected directly to router or pc/laptop.
