I've just got the Easycap usb 2 thingy and every time I try to use it I get an 'unexpected error box when in mpeg and when I use other formats ( or try to) It keeps failing after about 8 min into recording, saying theres not enoughe resources to finish the task etc. What am I doing wrong? I'm trying to convert old vhs direct from a vhs machine onto a laptop with windows Vista
Do you have enough memory on your computer to complete the recording? i had a problem once where it stopped recording because i was running low on memory. in that case i just had to delete unnecessary things to make room.
if that is not the issue, please take a screen shot (the button on your keyboard that says "Print Screen", then go to Paint and click edit>paste) and show me the messages you are receiving, and i may be able to help.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

easycap was not meant to used on windows 7 (i think). but i have uploaded all my easycap drivers for you,.... as always right click exe's and in compatibility mode for windows xp service pack 2. if it still not working after driver install go device manager try update drivers from there.
easycap reccomend - ulead video studio for video editing.
the rar file has no passwords. easycap driver and stuff
In my experience with the Easycap software the quality of sound & vision is very poor. My recommendation is as follows:
1) Use windows movie maker instead to capture video.Use the 2M byte/sec capture rate. Make sure the box for "make video clips" is NOT selected - you probably don't want your vid chopped into little bits.
2) In my experience USB audio is rubbish on these devices, so instead connect your PC or laptop audio LINE IN to your sound source. Don't forget to set sound source in RECORDING section of Control Panel Sound devices to Line In instead of your Easycap (which the Easycap drivers would have preset it to by default).
I have windows vista and my drivers load fine. Plug in the unit and the drivers load. I have the 4 camera easycap and the VCR easycap.
Install drivers first before plugging in the unit. Restart computer, plug in unit, check device manager if there is a stk1150 loaded under image.
My problem is getting small files from the recordings. I converted 2 mins of my daughters dance solo and it turned out 1.7gb AVI file without sound. Changing the options to mpeg or WV files will crash the program becuase something doesn't match. I need to play with it more to understand it better.
Your going to need to download the drivers for it off the internet. The same problem happened to me so i decided just to search for the drivers. I downloaded them, and then when i was installing it asked "Search computer for drivers" so i did that and found where i had downloaded the drivers to and then the EasyCap Capture Card worked. The only problem is you will need a good recording program to record with because the program they give you probably will not work. I decided to download AmCap which is a software that lets you record with your Easycap. Also i downloaded Pinnacle Studios 12 to record. If you have a Windows xp computer you can use Windows Movie Maker to record.
