Question about Maytag MLI7500A Iron

1 Answer

Iron no longer charges

My Maytag MLI7500A cordless iron will not charge, even after left in the charging cradle an extended period of time. The light flashes as if it is charging, and, if I remove it from the cradle while the cradle is still plugged into power, there are momentary sparks.

Does it have a replaceable battery?

Thanks,

Tim

No batteries ! works by just heating the base element which then retains the heat simply by virtue of it's materials and mass.

the sparking sounds like a short in the circuitry or element. If so, no replacement parts or service is available that I have found yet. I own one too, and have been looking for a while ! mine still works but I need some cosmetic parts. If you are interested in selling to me for parts, please contact me @ votz03@sbcglobal.net Thanks!

It doesnt charge up when i put it on the charger.

Check the voltage on the contacts of the base docking unit. If there is loss of contact then the iron will not heat up. secondly check the continuity of the coil within the iron as as open line or a failure of thermostat can also prove to be the fault.

Hi iv got a hinari steam generator iron hin001 that comes on and heats up but no steam comes out when you press the button and theres a standby sign flashes on the display can you help me please

don't spend your money on a calc cartrage it will not get it out of standby.
the controll unit carnt tell if it needs replaceing!
if the standby light is flashing it means it carnt heat the steam tank. if the iron is not heating as well it is a buggerd control pcb!
if you live near Newcastle I could fix it for 20 pounds

Iron wont turn on

Probably a broken or burnt wire, you need to open the iron and tie or solder the wires back together, it'll be functional again. Good luck

Melted cordless iron to charging cradle

I don't think there is any saving this iron.

You might try heating it up again to the hottest temp. and pulling it loose, but what would you use for a chargin plate?

Place the iron soleplate, unplugged of course, in a shallow dish of water and descaler and leave it for a while. I have just done this with mine and its working a treat.
