Well, I echo what the Blimpy complaint is. The unit is less than two years old, and has probably less than 100 hours of usage. When it first failed to operate properly, I pulled that tiny black plastic plug out of the back and could see a red light on. I inserted a casette and while it cycled the tape into its "play" position, that was the last sign of life. Not even the red lamp glows now. My computer tec, who allso repairs TV's, removed the cover to ascertain that the fuse was not blown- it's not, nor can I extract the tape which I do want to do, no matter what. The unit is "as new". not even dusty inside, no kids, no pets, nothing ever touched it on its safe perch. This model was one of the more expensive one available at the time. So, best guess: Is it worth fixing? probable cost? Time is not a factor. You can call me at (510) 220 6415.

I have a ripspeed DVD 720 when I wired it in the power button just flashed red for a bit and that's it it won't turn on or do anything?

Sounds like the power supply in the dvd player has failed. It works just well enough to turn on the led infront but as soon as you go to do anything it shuts off. This is common in cheaper dvd players. Unless you can troubleshoot electronics. Or know someone that can. Your best bet is to unplug the unit and disassemly and retrieve your dvd.

LG DVR lst-5403p won't power up

About the only thing you can hope for is the fuse inside got taken out.

Someone will have to open it and follow the power cord to it to find out.

My Toshiba SDP93S portable DVD player won't work.

The power supply adapter may be dead, should be tested, if okay! remove the main battery will load player down in some cases. If still no result! cheaper to replace than repair.

I put in a DVD that I usually use. It went to the DVD menu but then froze up. Now it won't open and sometimes the power doesn't even come on.

From the description you have provided, the microprocessor controller ic is failing which is the brains for the whole system. I suggest repacing the complete unit rather than have it repaired because it would not be cost effective.

My dvd player keeps reading "Bad Disc" when I know the disc's are ok. It reads this for anything I put in. Is she dead?

first turn off your dvd player and then open it, to open it you should unlock the screws by using screw driver, after you open it, you can see a lens on it, clean it with a soft cotton or a clean cloth. then turn on your dvd and insert a disk, see if it plays a disk, If not, you must adjust the trimmer at the lower portion of the lens, it is connected to a small circuit that is connected also to the lens, you should turn it clockwise but just a little bit.turn on your dvd and cover the lens with both fingers, be sure not to touch the lens, if you cover it, be sure also that you can see the lens, and look closely if it emits a thin red light, which is the color of the laser, if it emits, then your dvd is now ok. turn off your dvd, put the cover case back to its proper place

Good luck, have a nice day ahead

Dead power supply.

Faulty power-supply symptoms:

The front panel display and buttons are completely nonfunctional and appear dead. The unit will do nothing more than display the following messages on the TV screen:

Interface error
(and or)
Interface error! Turn off the power

If a DVD or VHS tape was inserted prior to the error occurring, you won't be able to eject either from that point further. They'll remain stuck inside the unit until you've completed the repair detailed below.

Interface error! Turn off the power <--- explains how to completely restore your combo in less than 20 minutes by replacing a $1.59 part on the power-supply board.

If the AC power source (outlet) is ok and the line cord and fuse are ok but the unit is completely dead, you may have a problem with the internal switching power supply.

Locate the switching power supply and see if there is a fuse on its circuit board.

Completely dead units are typically caused by a failure in the power supply section.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
