RAM Memory Inaccesible

I am having a hard time accessing the RAM inside the Lap top. As in all Toshiba product there is always something that makes them a pain in the rear for a technician. Most makers usually place it under a back little compartment easy to access. What do you guys know about upgrading Memory in this type of Laptop?

Unclog my Toshiba lap-top

get a blower >open the back cover of the hard disk or ram > blow the dust and close it will be ok, if not then get a qualified tech to open the laptop and spray the fan with a non-corrosive detergent or replace the fan.

TOSHIBA NB255 FORGOT PASSWORD BLUE BOX WONT DO ANYTHING I THINK MY WIFE CHANGED IT BECAUSE I ALWAYS USE THE SAME PASSWORD FOR EVERYTHING BUT NOW IT WONT WORK

Easy solution but sometimes hard to do because of close quarters. What you need to do is locate the watch battery inside of the lap top.It may be under one of the back panels but not all ways.If you have to open the case it is super easy to break something and some will only open an inch because of a small electric ribbon hooked to the top board. What you do is remove the watch battery for ten minutes and then put it back in.Be sure and ground your self by touching the metal frame because if you have any static electricity and it jumps to the mother board it will fry the motherboard. If your not handy with delicate work I would take it to a technician. Good Luck. When powering on gives 3 beeps and nothing else happens

Three beeps usually indicates a memory problem. Try removing the memory and booting with only one in at a time.

Having trouble with memory upgrade for Toshiba laptop

I don't see anything about DDR2 I do see DDR SODIMM.

Kingston ( a company owned by Toshiba) has the specs you need for your pc. Here is the link:

Toshiba Tecra 8100 will not boot, even the toshiba boot screen not displayed

http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?z=234&service=EU&from=faq_selection&CFID=BIOS&FID=TRO0000000b07

Thats a link to info about bios updates on the tosh website. If you're not getting to the toshiba screen then POST has not completed which means that either there's a hardware problem or the bios is corupt. If you're sure the RAM is ok try flashing the Bios.

Problem is though, to make the bios update disc, you need a working computer.

and, err, It'll probably have to be a toshiba!
(sorry, not my fault!)

Memory

To get at some parts takes some doing, but the AVERATEC 4200 AV4265-EH1 is user upgradable. The 80GB hard drive and one of the 256MB memory slots sit under a large bottom panel held in place by seven small screws. Removing two additional screws frees the hard drive. To reach the second RAM slot, you have to loosen one additional screw (labeled "D" in the manual but not on the notebook) inside the bottom compartment, pop out keyboard's four top latches, and lift it off. The RAM slot, the only exposed component beneath the keyboard, is easy to find. Another 256mb run both will surfice.
