MS Outlook Contacts error solution

I am using Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP (SP2) Media Center Edition computer and when I try to enter data for a new contact in the new contacts window I experience the following: If I ONLY enter the contact's name and e-mail address and click on Save and Close the entry is included in the contacts list as well as the address book. However, if I try to enter ANY additional information like phone numbers, addresses, etc. related to the new contact, and click on Save and Close, I receive an error message that an unexpected error has occurred and the Outlook will have to close. 1. I have run Detect and REpair from the MS Office CD.2. I have reinstalled MS Office 2003 from the reinstall feature on the CD.3. I have used the Scanpst.exe repair tool.None of these solutions has had any effect in correcting the problem.Any suggestions as to resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated. -- CBC

Windows XP ''Search'' utility disabled. Outlook problems.

Hi,

If you attempt to send a message that is too large for your mail server you may be unable to delete it from the Outbox.
First, try setting Outlook offline using the File, Offline menu. Wait about a minute or so or close Outlook and reopen.
If you are unable to delete the message while in offline mode or cannot go into offline mode, you'll need to change your default delivery location Try this, hope it will work for you.

Thanks

BCM Problem ... Lost Contacts

The BCM uninstallation doesn't delete your databases. They should still be on your computer here:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application

With either a *.mdf or *.ldf extension. Those are SQL databases which you can get the data off and into a CSV file which you can import into outlook (of course technical expertise is needed) or you could more easily (once the problem with BCM is resolved), make BCM re-recognize the databases by following these instructions:

1. Go into BCM and create a new database. That database needs to match the
name of the .MDF file. So if the MDF file is named "MyBusiness.MDF", create
a new BCM Database with that name

2. Stop the MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ Server by going to Start > Run >
services.msc and selecting the MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ service
3. Copy the original .mdf & .ldf files over the blank database. They should
be in the following location
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager

4. Start the Server again (see step 2)
5. Restart BCM and see if you can access your data

which I found here (credit to Larry from the Lockergnome's forums).

If you could write what the error message is I could possibly help you resolve the BCM problem you're having, thereby making it easier for you to view the data on the SQL database files.
