Canon imageclass d880 info

What OS is the Vaio running? Canon has drivers for the 32-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The Windows 7 driver may work with Windows 8 32-bit in the compatibility mode. However, most computers with Vista and later versions of Windows have the 64-bit OS; the exception are some machines that came with 2 GB or less of memory when new. Canon did not create a 64-bit driver for the imageCLASS D880. To check your OS version, go to the System Control Panel. (XP, Vista and Windows 7: Start > Control Panel (in the right hand column) > System and Security > System. In Windows 8: press the Windows key + X and do the same steps.) Then read the version information, if x64 is included then the 32-bit drivers won't work.

If you do have the correct driver installed for your OS, try swapping your data cable and changing the USB port, if in use. Do not use a USB hub but a direct connection to the computer. Check the device manager to make sure that there are no problems with the hardware drivers. (As above, go to the control panel. Then either in Hardware or System and Security choose the Device Manager. From the Windows key+X, just choose the Device Manager.) Expand the section for the type of port you are using and look for a triangle with a red X or yellow exclamation point. Try updating or uninstalling the driver and then letting the correct driver load when you reboot the computer. (Check with Sony for the driver.)

Next try uninstalling the printer and removing the data cable from your computer. Then install the driver from . Then connect the printer to the computer when prompted to do so. Failure to install the Canon software first can interfere with the installation of the correct driver.

I hope this helps.

Did you upgrade from windows XP to Windows Vista with this Laptop?  If so, did you check with the manufacturers' website to see if you need to install new software/drivers for this printer?〈=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=29789

Choose your operating system with the first link *which is for the laserjet* and download the appropriate drivers and software〈=en&product=374568&

the second link is for the psc 1315xi (the instructions are the same)

I added printer software, and my system is locked up/

it could be a software conflict / component incompatibility between your printer utility and your vista.

here's what you can do:

set your computer to safe mode, then uninstall the printer and its utility from your vista.

once done, reinstall the printer and let vista use its "built-in" drivers (since almost all printers manufactured before 2008 has drivers on vista by default) or let your computer download a compatible driver online.

Canon Pixma IP 90 printer and Windows Vista

Hi dreslsam,

Is it the Pixma 90, or the Pixma 90v? I believe there is a difference, but I could be wrong.

If you go to this link, and select Vista as your OS (operating system) you should be able to download the correct driver that you need for your printer. Make sure not to select the 64 bit version!

Once downloaded, make sure you unpack it and keep in mind where it saved it to in your computer. Then, right-click your my computer. select properties, then on the left hand side of the window select 'device manager'

You should be able to quickly see a yellow question mark next to your printer on this list. If not, I would think it should be located under the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' section (USB) where you can update the driver manually.

To update a driver manually, right-click on the driver on your device manager, select update driver, and when prompted, do not search automatically for the correct driver (hence manually versus automatically). Select 'I will install the device myself' and navigate through the explorer menu to the location of your recently downloaded and unpackaged driver. It should now install and complete successfully. It may prompt you once that the device driver is not signed by Microsoft, but since we are sure of the location that we downloaded it from, this is not a concern.

Once you've done all that (Phew!) You may still need to go to your Printers & Faxes menu and set-up your printer and make it your default printing device. Piece of cake after all of that driver stuff right?

If you still have any questions or problems after that, post again and let us know! Hope that helps.
