The "door-ajar,left-the-lights-on,key-is-still-in-ignition dinger" has stopped "dinging". i have asked around and nobody is really certain if it could be the speaker or the complete "module box" that contains the speaker or "you must have had the battery disconnected or jump-started the car and now it needs to be re-booted or re-coded". i asked the chevy parts-counter guy and he just immediately said, "u need anew box for $300 bucks." Many other people then told me, "NO really maybe NOT, and also it DOES MATTER EXACTLY that it is a 2002 / 4-cyl. and maybe even what engine code and/or what manufacturing date, cause EVERYTHING WAS IN FLUX DURING THOSE 5 YEARS. please help me w / Truth.

Well i know nothing about some of these american cars but on a lot of vehicles their is a thing that looks like a flasher unit only bigger and its either in the fuse box or under the dash and it has a speaker grill on the side ,surely this cannot be 300 dollars if it is then try the scrapyard ,now what do you want to know about a humber or morris minor ??

It's likely one of the door switches is damaged causing the door open signal. It can also be caused by the key in the ignition, so don't rule out a faulty key insertion switch.

Have your husband or a mechanic test these parts for accurate functionality.
