My Sony Playstation 3 keeps crashing everytime I get on it. It can last at a maximum of 10-15 minutes, and a minimum of 1-3 minutes. PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds like your hard drive is going out. You can get on ebay and get 320gb for 35-40$ and they have 1tb if you want to spend an extra 10. Replacing hard drive is very simple just be sure to have a flashdrive. After you put the new hard drive in its gonna want you to update the system manually so what you'll need to do is plug your flash drive into your computer and go get the newest update from for the ps3 and put it on the drive in a folder named PS3 inside that folder you'll need another folder called UPDATE that is where you will store the update. Before you put the update on the flash drive make sure to format the flash drive which can be done by right clicking it in the My Computer menu. It needs to be formatted to FAT32 if your computer doesn't allow you you can download something that will format it to FAT32 for free. Plug the flash drive into your ps3 put the new hard drive in and get ready to start your ps3 back up. By the way if you don't know where your hard drive is located or how to get it out look it up on youtube. Taking them out are very simple not much can go wrong. If the hard drive doesn't take the first time take it back out make sure all dust is off teeth inside its sure to be dusty I promise make sure hard drive is firmly seated in. Good luck hope this helps :)

When I turn on my playstation 3 it says that it is restoring and then goes to a black screen, any ideas

I think that you may have a problem with either the system files or the HDD. Here are some steps to try before sending the PS3 Back in
First try:
1. Access safe mode with instructions from this link Safe Mode on PS3
2. From safe mode, click restore default settings.
3. If this doesn't work, go back to safe mode and click restore filesystem. If this doesn't work, go back and click the next option down. Stop at restore.
Second: (You will need some supplies)
1. Follow this until you get to the bold letters saying "Update Procedure"
PlayStation3 PC System Software Update Method PlayStation
2. Go back into safe mode and click "System Update"
3. Plug in your USB stick
You need to replace the hard drive. Here are sony's official instructions:
Upgrade the Hard Disk Drive HDD
Make sure you use a PS3 compatible hard drive! (Listed in the above article)

I gat a ps3 console from a friendy, for repare it didn't have a hard drive. I put a new hard drive in, Were can i get the softwere for the ps3?

Playstation website its the current update ver. 3.56. Download Using Your PC and a usb flash drive. On the flash drive create a new folder and name it PS3 and inside of that folder create another new folder and name it UPDATE and then download the update save it in the folder named UPDATE. Make sure the ver.3.56 is named PS3UPDAT.PUP. When the download is finished take the usb flash drive and put iinto one of the empty usb slots on teh front of your console and turn your console on and follow the directions that come up.

Ps3 slim says hard drive corrupted but wont work?

You will need to update the hard drive. You have to go to playstations website and find the update for your ps3 dashboard you can put it on a memory stick make sure to save it just how sony suggests. Then you put the memory stick in the ps3 and it will update your hard drive and it should work. Fixxed several with the same problems that way. Hope this helps. If you need help finding the update just let me know.

Hooked up the net to my ps3. Ask to update system came back with an error system is corrupted. Keeps restarting the system will not boot up

Ok you need to go to playstations website and find a update for your dashboard and put it on a memory stick or sd card if you have a older ps3. You have to download it onto the memory stick just like playstation says then you put the memory stick in the ps3 and it should start updating from the memory stick. I've fixed several ps3s with the same problem. Your hard drive probably didnt download the update all the way so its sticking when you turn it on and restarting trying to do the same process over and over again stopping in the same spot.

My ps3 keeps saying hard disk file is corrupted

See what it says with hard drive taken out. Then put it back in and see if it is ok. You can also try to format it if the system will allow. Hard drive is probably crashed if none of these tricks help. It just a SATA Laptop hard drive and can be replaced easy and cheap. Good Luck

yes is fixable look like you have change the hard drive or something like that ok if this messages appear during powering the unit on then you need to do the follow make sure is a hard drive on it
then get a usb drive connect the usb to your computer then create a folder and name it PS3 open the folder and created another folder and name it UPDATE make sure to use capital letters then go to sony and open the web page for playstation 3 download the update 2.60 install the update in the folder you name it UPDATE and once you have the update ready plug your usb to the playstation but make sure there is a hard drive on the ps3 turn the unit on and then after the message cannot start connect your controller using your usb cable and push the logo PS then again in your control at the same time push SELECT and START at the same and then the ps3 is going to start looking for an update just wait about a minute and on the next screen push SELECT and START again at the same time but this time hold them for 5 seconds and then the ps3 will start looking again for the update and it will start the update automatically
